What's the exact inseam measurement on these pants? (sometimes the inseams are not accurate depending on manufacturer). I'm a 32 waist, and 33 inseam; trying to decide between regular and long.

Responded on

The inseams on these pants are pretty spot on. There is typically a little tolerance in production but they kinda have to keep things pretty tighter with the convertible pants. If you are typically a 33 inch inseam I would probably go with the longs for these pants if you plan on wearing these backpacking in boots or the regular version if you just plan on wearing these day to day with something like sandals.

Great pair of hiking pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

I love Marmot clothing and these pants don't disappoint. True to size. I usually wear 32 waist and 32 inseam. The 32 regular fits perfectly. I'm just under 5'11", 145lbs. Great to have two zippered pockets, conveniently located. Very comfortable relaxed fit.

Comfortable pant for a variety of temps

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift, but have feedback to share
  • Fit: True to size

I got this pant for my Dad, and he reported back that he appreciates the versatile functionality when he's hiking or working outside for long days that start out with cool mornings but afternoons get hot. He likes how easy it is to transition from a pant to a short, and the very comfortable fit.

A nice pair of pants

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Like the title says these are a nice pair of pants. They are comfortable and good looking. Stitching on seams and overall quality is great as is all marmot products. Also taking the leg on and off is easy to do. I look forward to taking these on my next backpacking trip and out west this summer.

Great backcountry pant

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I have worn these for years, and love them.

Dry quickly, pretty light, plenty of pocket space, love the zip-off bottoms for warmer weather/getting in the water, face material deflects moisture/shrubbery very well.

I can spend days in the backcountry with a single pair of these and no worries.

I am 5'11, 155 lbs. I find myself in between lengths on pants, some 32, some 34 depending on the actual sizing. Would you recommend a 32 or 34?

Responded on

I would be willing to wager the 34 would be much too large on you. I'm 6'1" and I tried a 34 on...no way

(Mostly) Dependable Pant

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

These pants have been a pleasant surprise in how well they have held up to hundreds of miles hiking on the PCT, not to mention all the other activity I've put them through when not kicking dirt and hauling a pack.
You have to be careful not to wash them with the leg sections detached, though. Such action can be very rough on the leg section zippers that attach the aforementioned sections to the upper part of the pant that goes around the waist.
They shed water and other liquids decently, and as long as you make sure to monitor the DWR status, I believe they would continue to provide some minor water resistance.
Plan on using these to continue hiking or doing general outdoorsing in whenever I finish the trail, but overall, I would recommend to someone looking for a relaxed but uninhibiting fit style pant.

Are these pants pretty true to size? I'm usually a 34 waist but i know these companies can differ, such as Columbia their 34 feels more like a 32! And based upon the answer are all or most of marmots pants that way?

Responded on

You are right, some companies will fit differently than other and can even differ in fit across models. These however should fit pretty true to size, and being relaxed fit you should be able to move in them without any restriction. If you normally wear a 34 I suggest keeping with that size fore these pants.

I'm 6'1" about 190 will the 34 reg fit me particularly the inseam? I like my pants with a 34" inseam.

Then you'll want the 34 Long for the 34.5"inseam you're looking for.

Great overall

Compared to the REI Endeavor, this pant has better breathability, looser fit, and no full-length zip-offs (so with certain boots will require you to remove the boot before zipping off the lower leg). The zipper around the zip-off shorts is also much better protected against the leg, reducing chafing (compared to the Endeavor).

For my taste, the zip-off section and the looser fit (I wear 28"-29" jeans but the 28" Cruz is extremely loose around my waist) I rated this a 4. Otherwise, in most aspects it's a superior pant to the Endeavor for warmer climates, comfort, and flexibility.

Awesome!

I own three pair of these pants! Very flexible and breathable. I'm 5'7 and about 165-170lbs and use the 32" waist in the short version.

Water repelling will repel dew or anything similar. If it's a heavy downpour you can expect your legs to get wet. However, it doesn't take to long for these pants to dry. I typically just hang them up at night and they are ready to go in the morning.
