Corvara Softshell Jacket - Men's

Marmot designed the Men’s Corvara Softshell Jacket with a combination of stretchy, windproof softshell fabric and warm, moisture-wicking wool that performs in any mountain or casual environment. A DWR coating sheds moisture when you wear the Corvara over a T-shirt around town, and its insulating properties made it an ideal mid-layer for skiing or mountaineering trips.

Bottom Line: A stretchy, windproof softshell with a wool bonus.

I just received this jacket for my birthday in a size medium. This is my first softshell and I am for the most part, happy with the design. The wool is a fantastic thermal regulator and the M1 softshell is well made. The DWR treatment on the arms and shoulders of the jacket is impressive to say the least, water immediately beads and rolls off. The Jacket is also very breathable making it easy to use when you transition to a different temperature. The wind resistance good for the most part, but some may find it slightly breezy. The only problem I have with this piece is that my range of motion is limited and the arms of the jacket are slightly shorter than I expected. I am 5' 10" 175lbs. Standing up they are a nice length, but moving around they ride up quite a bit. I may return it and go a size up if it is noticeable when I am in the field. Overall, a great Jacket by marmot, but the sizing in the arms is a little awkward.

Is this jacket warm enough for the wisconsin cold?

If you're just using it around town, I'd get a big down jacket like the Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero or something. It'll be much warmer and about the same price.

You'd need more than just this. Probably another layer or two. For the price, you could probably find something better, like an insulated down/synthetic jacket.

Great Jacket, but could use more ventilation

I really like this jacket - stylish, comfortable, and the forearms aren't as tight as a wetsuit like many softshells. I wear it around more as casual wear though rather than for anything aerobic due to the lack of core venting. Why couldn't they have put Pit-Zips into this jacket? If they had, this would be truly awesome.
