Great backpacking bag

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

coming in at just under 3 lbs. it;s hard not to like this bag. Marmot does it again with an effective and lightweight bag that fits into any backpack with ease and keeps you warm on the chilly nights in the wild.

How small does this bag compress into when you roll it down? Im looking for a good lightweight (relatively cheap) backpacking sleeping bag.

Responded on

Looks like these are 8.5 x 18 inches in the stuff sack.
You could probably take it down a few more inches with a compression sack too

nice bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've had this bag for a bit over a year. I've used it on some colder nights, and pelnty of warmer nights. A paddle trip in prince william sound ended up being about 40 degrees warmer than expected, and the bag did alright venting and kept reasonably comfortable despite the 60 and 70 degree nights. Its super soft and feels real nice, and on colder nights it does a great job insulating! All around great bag.

For those of us who are cold blooded

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had a 35 degree rated sleeping bag but it just could not keep me warm enough during 40 degree nights. I tend to be on the cold side at night and this was the perfect solution. I now stay perfectly warm in temperatures in the low 30's. The bag starts getting a little warm in 60 degree weather but I can always use my lighter sleeping bag for warmer weather trips. I tend to camp in mountain regions where the nights get pretty cold.

The feel of this bag is of the highest quality and the fit of the regular is perfect if your under 6'. I'm 5'10" and have good wiggle room.

Overall I would recommend this to anyone who camps regularly in below 65 degree weather.
