Cirque Down Jacket - Men's

Alpine climbers and mountaineers need a serious down jacket to stay warm and hold up to the abuse that equipment gets in the mountains. The Marmot Men's Cirque Down Jacket passes both tests with flying colors. Its 650-fill power goose down stuffed inside a water-resistant shell ensures that you stay warm during your 2:00am alpine start. A down-filled collar and draft tube keeps you from losing any warmth. Across the shoulders and top of the arms you'll find ReBar fabric reinforcements to protect the jacket from your pack.

Bottom Line: When your crampons are crunching over the neve and it's still three hours until sunrise, the Marmot Cirque Down Jacket keeps you toasty.

Don't hesitate on this one!

I bought this for my fiance. He loves it. Constantly talking about how warm it is. We live in MN and it has been -20 in the last week and he can wear a long sleeve shirt under this jacket as we snowshoe, ski, etc. He can wear a t-shirt under it the rest of the time!

I'm glad I picked this one. I don't think you would regret it!

Excellent Piece of Gear

I was very happy with the level of customer service as well as the shipping. I received the package in fine order, and immediately wore the jacket.

The fit is perfect for my body and size. Immediately noticed the warmth of the jacket, even in stiff winds at -20C (-4F). I have found no noticeable drafts, the arm length is perfect, as is the length of the jacket to the waist.

My only complaint is the stitching construction, as I now have a loose thread on the shoulder, and am finding feathers making their way out between stitching.

All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.

Marmot Cirque Down

Great choice. I wear medium and the fit is loose enough to layer but tight enough to be active (considering you're wearing a down jacket). I'm also a big fan of the draw cords in the pockets. Not only do they keep the cords out of the way, but they also allow you to tighten or loosen the waist without taking your hands out. Packs down to slightly less than the size of a football.

mmm toasty

This thing is great. Well, I haven't tested it outside yet. I will be putting it to the test at 19,000+ feet in about 3 weeks--we'll see how she holds up. Right now my only gripe is that when zipped all the way up it is a little tight around my neck.

Marmot impresses again. A strong down jacket that works well down by the ocean or up in the mountains and still looks stylish at the after ski. For alternatives in the same price range there is no one better.

alright...

Not a bad jacket. The stitch through construction means there are cold spots along the stitching, plus it makes the jacket a bit puffy looking. The hood didn't provide all the coverage I was looking for. The length was a good intermediate between a jacket and a parka. the grey was a nice color. Ended up exchanging it for the MHW SubZero Parka which I like a lot better.

This jacket rocks!

It’s a very warm and comfortable jacket and nice details such as hook-and-loop closure cuffs. The length is just right: long enough to keep you warm, and short enough to not be in the way when walking in steep terrain. I also like the down hood very much. Top quality from Marmot.

The fill power is a perfect balance between insulation and "packability". This jacket can be stuffed in the backpack for ski mountaineering without talking up too much room. It's nice to pull it out and see the envious look on they others faces.

Great Jacket!

By:

My job basically makes me live in the outdoors. I am outdoors basically all the time in Northern Wisconsin where the temps drop to the negatives frequently in the winters. Those days are some of the best days for camping. The only problem that I have with this jacket is when you get close to the camp fires you can put holes in the jacket. It is able to be repaired fairly easily when it gets a tear in it. I tore wide open doing some work and had the guts (feathers) flying everywhere in the wind! I took some duct tape and put it on the inside of the jacket and sealed up the seam again. Then I took a needle and thread and stitched it up quick making sure to go through the tape on the backside. With the quick repair it was good to go. The coat is incredibly warm and the drawstrings help to keep all the warmth tucked away nice and close even on the most frigid of days.

Son loves it

Bought jacket for my son and he loves it! It's at the waist which gives him room for moving around, an attached hood which I think is great (no losses). he says it is really warm and loves it!
