To meet the enhanced demands of backcountry skiers, alpine climbers, and ski mountaineers, Marmot built the Cervino Jacket with an element-shedding Gore-Tex Performance Shell and pack-friendly zippers. Uphill-inspired features include the guaranteed waterproof, windproof, and breathable two-layer Gore-Tex Performance Shell as well as a mesh paneled lining for enhanced breathability when you're sweating up another steep snowfield.
  • Fully taped seams mean no dripping chairs or melting snow will find its way through to your under layers
  • An inner lining protects it all from wear throughout your whole season of working and playing in the mountains
  • Zip-off, adjustable hood features a laminated brim to keep it from flapping in the wind
  • Underarm zippered vents come in handy during hikes and hot rides in the tram
  • The zip-off powder skirt includes gripper elastic to keep it in place and guard your under layers from deep, fluffy snow
  • Asymmetrical cuffs with hook-and-loop closures fit under gloves and further block out the deep, billowing snow
  • DriClime-lined chin guard feels smooth and increases warmth during super-storms
  • Water-resistant hand pocket zippers let you get to your stuff without allowing vulnerabilities when closed

I have a Marmot softshell that I really like, but wanted a technical hardshell with a hood, more pockets, waterproof (for that east coast January love) and a powder skirt. This jacket hit all the right spots, including price, by a company I know and like. It's been a great jacket so far. My one complaint is the zippers are difficult to operate (particularly to close) one-handed. Not a deal breaker, but frustrating when you're trying to close a pit zip on the ascent when you have poles in hand or are on steep terrain and don't want to put gear down. I would also offer that it's sized a little big. I went with the large, which works, but there's more room than I expected. I'm 5'11, 175#

Bought this in red when it was available, I'm 5'11 and 185ibs. Has lots of pockets, vents, and a snowskirt as well as an internal zipper that's compatible with who knows what. Hood can be zipped off or adjusted to fit helmet or hat. Goretex outer layer keeps me dry and blocks wind. Be sure to layer accordingly underneath since you will be cold if you sweat.

This is a great shell. It has kept me dry in some pretty bad snow storms, I have not used it in the rain yet. This jacket works great while riding chairs in the resort, and is at home touring. It is very light and has great ventilation, which is great for going up hill. The only thing I would change, is that I would make the cuffs wider. They fit over my gloves but not as easily as I think they should. I have noticed that most Gore-Tex shells seem to have narrow cuffs. Other than that I like the shell more and more every day, especially touring.

I bought this shell a couple years ago in a red and blue scheme that is no longer available but otherwise everything is the same. Overall its great! The shell is very water-resistant and holds up well against snow and rain. In bad conditions over time the outer layer does saturate but the inside remains dry. I've gone through some pretty intense winter storms in this jackets and it keeps the wind and water out great. It also is pretty warm for not being insulated and can work as just a normal jacket in decent conditions. The pockets are conveniently high for backpacking and are totally waterproof. Overall a great shell.

Definitely windproof and kept me dry. It is a shell, so you'll need something underneath if it is colder but I stayed dry through Alaska, Vancouver, Seattle and Portland! Pockets are large. Nice and light, so packs easily into a bag/suitcase if not needed. Great functionality.
