Great jacket if you can get on sale

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

First and foremost I've walked around in a bunch of wet weather in this thing and have stayed dry, which is exactly why I bought it, so two thumbs up for that!

The fit is great - I'm 5'9" and wear a large in all things jacket and this fit perfect. The length is awesome and the sleeves are long enough, which is great. Tailored but not tight and it's a really nice looking jacket so I can wear it for work where I have to pretend like I'm not a scumbag :)

Things I don't love - all the snaps! They look cool and definitely do lend it a more stylish appearance, but when am I ever going to zip up AND snap a light jacket? So I don't snap them, and when I walk they tend to clack together. I'd prefer maybe fake snaps that have magnets so they just stick shut. Also, the snaps on the cuffs would be cooler if they had expandable fabric underneath when you unsnap them and not just an open vent.

All that said, I love this jacket. I don't $175 love it and would never pay that price for it, but since I got it for cheap on SAC I'm totally stoked!

Is this jacket waterPROOF? I live in the PNW and I need something that'll really shed rain :)

Hey BexOnHood,

This jacket sports Marmot's proprietary waterproof polyurethane lamination. If you are looking to be out every day in really wet weather or really long periods of time (backpacking/camping) I would suggest finding something slightly more technical. But if this is just for casual wear and getting from point A to point B then this should do the trick in a wet climate.
