Almost perfect fit

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: Runs small
  • Size Bought: 8

I bought these pants for doing field work over the summer, but now use them for backpacking and hiking as well. These are great because not only are they flattering, but they function very well. They pack down small and are very lightweight (a concern for backpacking) while at the same time, are high performance. I got caught in a rainstorm in these and though they are not waterproof, they are water resistant. In a light rain water beads off, leaving your skin dry. When it started to really pour, the pants became soaked. Within minutes of the rain stopping, however, they were completely dry and so was my skin underneath. Overall, great pants for backpacking and hiking, flattering fit and breathable. I gave 4 stars because they are a little low cut at the waist. I usually like something that sits a little higher on my hips so I find that I tend to pull them up, causing them to be a little tight in the crotch. However, this is more of my own personal fit preference. I usually wear a 6 and sometimes a 4, but saw some reviews saying they ran small and ordered both a 6 and an 8. I ended up keeping the size 8 in these pants- because of the crotch fit. If I were to order again I might even go up to a 10 (2-3 sizes bigger than my usual size!) to bypass the crotch situation.

Great hiking pants

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

Unbelievable fit. Extremely light weight. I have a really hard time finding pants that fit my 5' 3", 138lbs , small waist, and curvy hips. I bought size 8. These pants actually fit over my hips and the draw strings make the fit perfect around my waist. Legs wide enough to comfortably hike up hill. Perfect for backpaking and traveling. Plan to buy another pair.

My go-to camping pant!

I absolutely love these pants! I have a hard time finding pants that fit me perfectly because im only 5'0 tall and weigh 120lbs. I have a tiny waist but wide hips and thighs. These pants have a great adjustable drawstring waist with a button to keep the crack away, but also fit loosely enough on the butt and thighs that I can move around and squat and kneel. The pants are long for me (as all pants are) but I just roll them up and they're great. I also can fit a pair of long underwear underthem when I need a little more insulation. I love them so much that I just bought another pair in the dark steel.
