Marmot designs sleeping bags for a wide range of uses, from expeditions in deep winter to ultralight backpacking missions in the peak of summer. As the name suggests, the down-filled Always Summer Sleeping Bag is designed for the later end of this range. And while the feathery just-over-two-pound weight may be enough to entice you, features like 600-fill down insulation, stretch insulation baffles, a roomy trapezoidal foot box, and ground-level sides seams will be enough to really draw you in. Marmot stole the hood of this sleeping bag from its expedition-tested 8000m down jacket, a small touch to be sure, but a meaningful addition to the overall comfort. Although there are 800-fill and 900-fill Marmot sleeping bags in the 40-degree range (the Atom and Plasma), the Always Summer hits the sweet spot in terms of warmth, weight, and value.
