Good for a few tours

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used these on a total of 10 tours. Today when on some rather firm refrozen corn they kept bending. Not what you want from a crampon that's supposed to keep you on the slope. I was able to bend them back enough to manage for my tour but I'll definitely be pursuing the warranty if there is one...

Original (narrow trak) Duke's F 12 etc.

Got the ski crampons and was told by Chad they would work on my original (narrow) Marker F 12 bindings. I couldn't figure out how that was possible but after emailing the Marker Rep. I read the directions again (not very clear) but finally figured it out. Very simple changing them from one to the other and mounting. If you know what you are doing!!! Older (narrow) take the two screws out push the rubber piece over the curved edge off. Remove the entire piece and replace with the other piece. Put the two screws back in. Slides in from the toe side to the heel side and locks in the notch on the plastic plate. Good luck. An interesting puzzle.

Unanswered Question

just received 113mm. no sizing description on backcountry, but package says 113mm is for no larger than 106 skis. Barely fit my gotamas at 107, and seem they easily catch the edges with any torque on the binding. any feed back. probably return for next size up.

Will the 92mm size work on a ski with a 92mm waist? Or should I go up to the next size (113), regardless of the size difference?

Responded on

Hey Stacy,

Yeah, the 92mm size will work on a ski with a 92mm waist width. Keep in mind, when using the crampon, leave the climbing aid at 0 degrees.
