Marker made headlines with the award-winning Jester Ski Binding, and this year’s Jester Schizo 16 Ski Binding will blow your mind like your boss calling on a 3-foot powder day and saying you’re free to just come in at 3:00. The key to its amazing-ness? You get the safety and performance of the Jester Binding, plus the ability to slide the binding forward or backward three centimeters in either direction. On a pow day, sit back and float the deeps, and for an aggressive freestyle session, slide forward to slay the park.
Compact, fat footprint provides superior lateral control and allows the ski to flex naturally
Triple-Pivot Toe and Inter-Pivot Heel absorb energy to prevent premature release and offer excellent contact area with boot lugs
Wide mounting pattern transfers power to powder-skis with a minimum width of 76mm
Binding slides forward or backward 3cm from center stance, so you can adjust for powder, all-mountain, or park / pipe turning
Turn the screw on the toe piece to slide binding—and you don’t need to step out of it to do so
Bottom Line: The next step in ski binding evolution. Next stop: opposable thumbs.
Anybody know if these will work with AT sole plates? They have the lateral slider plates. I have Marker Baron's on my powder/backcountry boards and want something similar for my hardpack/groomer skis that will work without changing boots or boot soles. Don't need the weight of complexity of the Dukes/Baron's for inbounds, plus the adjustable center would be nice.
And yes, I am sure I am not supposed to do that... saftey, DIN specs, blah, blah, blah. But will it WORK?
This binding is good because: It has a huge range of adjustment. If you want to sell them or lend them to friends or your kids are growing like crazy, the binding will accommodate a wide range of boot sizes without needing to be remounted. Also, with the new rockered skis, I have found the mounting point to be more important than ever. I think this is because rocker causes the running length of the ski to be much shorter, and in turn the mounting point has a greater overall impact on the performance of the ski. With the Schizo, moving the binding forward and back to dial in the ski's sweet spot (depending on conditions, skier type, your general mood) is super easy.

Identical 110mm brakes on my Marker Baron's did NOT fit my JJ's acceptably. Attempts to bend them slightly did not provide any additional clearance, and a little extra persuasion broke the plastic carrier on one of the brakes. Ended up going with the wider 130mm Marker brakes instead, which are perfect.
I've got a pair of 110 brakes on my Hellbents (122 waist) My shop guy had to bend em a tiny bit when he mounted em, but now that they're on they are perfect. So yes the 110's will fit!
This is the binding that I use on all my skis. From pipe, park to mountain skiing in the back country. The binding does not seem like much at first glance, but trust me it does the job. The Jester is designed for today's skier and it works great. I have had no issues with this binding.
I have found that the Marker Duke's tend to kill the responsiveness of some skis on groomers and in the park (which is fine because the duke's job is supposed to be getting you off the groomers anyways). Does the Schizo have the same issue... with a full solid plate under foot? Or does it allow more normal ski flex?
I found the same feeling w/ the Dukes but found that the schizo's don't effect the ski nearly, if at all, as bad. My fujas' rip with these and the schizo makes them insanely versatile.
The Jester has changed backcountry skiing for me. In the past I skied on the fritschi bindings in the backcountry. I was always walking out of my skis and they would torque when climbing up. If I was planning on skiing hard in the backcountry, I would opt to book pack. The Jester is heavy, but it is worth its weight in gold. The binding tours well, very smooth and stable. It is when you get to the top that the binding really shines. As you step into, you here that beautiful sound of a clunk as the binding clamps down onto your boot. And you can ski without any worry of binding fallure. It is the best backcountry freeride binding on the market!
Ms. McMillan's review is spot on for the Duke/Baron bindings. However, Jester-Schizo binders aren't for touring, rather they're a resort, freeride binding.
The Jester Schizos are the best freeride binding I have had the pleasure of owning, that's one and half seasons on a pair of obSETHeds. The adjustability allows for micro-tuning your position on your boards while having great feel and performance qualities. I have 5 seasons on a pair of Railflex II bindings that I had plates for on several pairs of skis, not any more. The RFs are nothing compared to the level of performance the Schizos give me. They are definitely lighter as well. Buy 'em, you will thank me!
I mount all my big mountain/powder skis 2 cm. behind the "true center," of the ski. You can always stand on your skis like a snowboard and feel where the bindings will be most comfortable before you get them drilled on.
The point of schizo is the abilty to adjust the mounting point. Mount at the recommended line and move as needed for the park or a more all mountain application
Great bindings, no need to worry about where to mount. A lot of moving pieces though so it is a little worrisome that they will break but they are pretty hardcore. Jesters have more metal and retension compared to the griffons, but also a steeper price. All in all great bindings for those who dont know where to mount and want adjustibility.
i am looking at a pair of Marker Jester Schizo 16 Ski Bindings to be mounted on atomic bent chetlers that have a 123mm waste will the binding for the 110 work on those?
I feel like Markers brakes are a little wider than they advertise. I just picked up a set of 110mm dukes and they fit fine (with no bend) on my 116mm waisted EHP's. I think you may be fine getting away with the 110's, but I'm no expert..
Hi I have a set of K2 xplorers (84mm waist) I need to put bindings on, they are the flat type. I am 6ft 95kg int to advance skier. Wondering if these would be suitable or if there are any other suggestions
I tried bending 90mm marker brakes more than 10mm and ended up breaking the plastic piece that the metal brake arms fit in to. I would not recommend bending these because the brake arms are two separate pieces of thick, stiff metal and are not as easy to bend as the single piece of wire that is used for both brake arms in Look/Rossignol or Salomon brakes.

For my fun pow setup I've gone with the jesters. They are lighter than my comp bindings and still perform great! Great for all mountain skiing! more...
