Description

The Jester is no joke.

The burly 18-DIN Marker Jester Pro Ski Binding continues to set the standard for hard-charging freeski bindings. It's a binding that stay put when it matters most, during hyperspeed run-outs or billy-goating over no-fall zones. The Triple Pivot Elite toe and Inter-Pivot heel provide enough elasticity to keep you locked in while bombing down slopeside or hitting hard landings. The toe piece features a horizontal torsion bar reinforcement that enhances power and lateral precision, so you stay in when you rail. Light, strong magnesium parts add durability and performance to this already bomber binding.

The Choice

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

The Jester Pro sets the standard, and has to be among the top choices in bindings with this DIN range. I love the platform they provide for today's wide skis. Frankly, if you ski a DIN of 8 or higher - get this binding just for the toe bar which Marker added a few years ago. The design intention was to add torsional rigidity, but they work great for kicking ice and snow off your boots. If you are putting skis on and off on tram laps (or even better heli laps), the delta in price between the Jester and Jester Pro is worth it for this convenience alone.

Bomber

This binding is a great investment. It's bomber in every way.

My favourite binding ever!

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've skied many different brands and styles of bindings over the years but the Jester Pro is by far the best in my opinion. I'm 6'2" 185lbs I ski hard and I've never come out when I didn't want to and I only ski them on 13 din. Lightweight compared to many of its competitors and has a small footprint on the ski witch allows the ski to flex more evenly. As a bonus the bar on the toe piece thats designed to give the binding strength for the big spring inside also works great for kicking the snow off your boot.

Is there a wider brake available for the Jester Pro? Is it the same brake as the regular Jester? I need 130.....

Responded on

Hey,
For the Jester Pro only the 110 is available, if you wanted to go with this binding you could contact Marker directly to get some wider brakes for the bindings.
If you went with the Jester binding, the brakes go up to 130- the difference between the Jester and the Jester Pro is that the Jester has a DIN range of 6-16 while the Pro goes from 8-18 DIN.
Hope this helps!

Yes there is brakes for over 130. Volkl makes skis that are 132 under foot so they made sure to offer a brake that would work. You should be able to find them on line either here or at Markers web site. Let me know if you can't and I'll help you out.

Is the AFD adjustable? I wanna use something like this with a CAST SI&I system with both AT and alpine boots.

Responded on

Yes there is an adjustable toe height on these. I believe it require a 4mm allen key to raise or lower.

Responded on

The Lord might work better, but the DIN range for it is lower (5-14).

If these 2014s have the same design as the 2013 model, it is a pain in the rear to adjust the toe height. If you're going to be doing this often I would look into a different binding.

Hey Brian,
I'm really interested in getting the CAST SI&I system. Did you get it? How you like it? And what binding did you get mounted on it?
