Mammut Tubular Dyneema 12mm Contact Slings are the perfect choice for long trad routes and big-wall climbs. Lighter and more abrasion-resistant than regular nylon slings, Dyneema is a better material for routes where the granite acts like sandpaper on your gear. Use the 60cm length for over-the-shoulder slings, the 120cm length for tying off horns and chockstones, and the 180cm length for a burley cordelette.

Bottom Line: Light slings for big climbs.

I like these better than the 8mm for slinging chickenheads trees and loops that would take wrapping the sling around. The added width just makes me feel safer with the added friction of such situations.

Long, light, and thin.

I can nearly floss my teeth with these things. Light, thin, and, when you fall on 'em, they don't break. What more could you possibly want? They're a little pricey, but overall, the difference is worth not having to worry about your water-knots coming undone (even though they generally don't). They don't absorb water very well, so you don't have to worry much about them freezing, either.

this sling is really long and I really like it.

This sling is insanely long and only a few stitches wider than the popular 8mm ones. If you need a really long sling, get it. If you don't know whether or not you need a really long sling, then don't buy it.
