Description

Whether you layer the Stratus beneath your shell or wear it alone, the Stratus keeps your core temp just right.

Carolyn doesn’t even look the least bit winded as she casually strides up the skintrack wearing the Mammut Women’s Stratus Hybrid Jacket. You, on the other hand, have sweat pouring down your back because you wore a midweight jacket without underam vents. That’s the last time you wear a supposedly breathable jacket without ventilation when you trek uphill.
  • SOFtech softshell fabric in shoulders and arms
  • Fiberfill insulation keeps you toasty when you stop to take a break
  • Articulated elbows provide unrestricted movement so you can dig a pit and check out the snow layers
  • An adjustable waist drawcord and hood block out snow and wind

It's a very thin fleece type material, kind of like a coating on the inside of the jacket. It's designed to add a small amount of insulation, but mostly for comfort. You'll need a base and/or mid layer for anything below 40F.

Water-resistant, windproof, synthetic.

I got this jacket when I noticed that it was only taking a year for me to destroy a nice down jacket -even when I was trying to be gentle with it. But I'm primarily a rock climber-- so I use my jackets to approach (with a pack); I get caught out in the rain. I sweat in them, belay in them, get them dirty, and generally degrade them.

So that's where this one comes in- it's thinner than a down, so fits nicely with a pack on. Because it's windproof, it's also surprisingly warm. And it fits/ moves nicely, so it can even be used to run during the winter.

I'd definitely recommend this to a friend, and look forward to keeping my down jackets much nicer and less trashed!!!

this jacket keeps you warm

This jacket is pretty cool. A nice hybrid of soft shell on the sleeves and a down jacket for the body. Plus its really good looking. Pit zips are great cause this jacket keeps you warm! Picked mine up on SAC but had to return it because the sleeves were long and baggy. (felt like i was wearing my boyfriends jacket).

YES, my first Mammut and I'm impressed

This jacket is AWESOME. I originally ordered the lime color, it was really cool, but didn't suit me since I'm really pale. So I exchanged for the black. I LOVE it. As soon as I put it on I didn't want to ever take it off. So light and so soft and comfy and warm! It's going to be perfect for my trip to Norway. Yay mammut!
