I wear this all the time when it's cold, either over high loft velour(north66) or with a houdini high loft jacket if it's really cold. Not wind resistant but it's an insulation layer for me after all and does great alone or with either great baselayers or a shell. Hood of the large fits me snug i'm 5'4, like others I also had to have the great hoodies by houdini norrona etc. Love the thumbholes because they are flat and don't make me have to pull the sleeves up for any reason to use my hands. I agree the houdini houdi & high loft also could use some slimmer thumbholes. Wish it had hemstrings but I plan to have someone put some in ;)
Arm length is perfect 100%. Wish the eiswand had a hood or a mens version was available. But the look isn't too feminine, many people at work say they like my hoodie, I keep it locked up in my locker :)

This jacket is superb - great fit and true to Mammut form, a great outdoor product. The fit is slim, and like the other reviewers stated, is perfect for long torsos and arms (though with the cut, shorter torsos would fit well into it too, it was borrowed by my friend, about 6 inches shorter than me, and still looked great). I've replaced a much heavier fleece with this thinner one as a mid-layer and it stands the test - yesterday took it out under a shell for a full day of ice climbing at temperatures just above freezing. My core stayed warm (toes were another matter!). Would have needed a puffy on belay if it had gotten much colder, but stood the test for that climate!

I wear this around town too, because I love the color (looks great in alpine pictures) and fit.

I think Lotte's review is spot on. I agree entirely with everything she claims. And like her, I am a tall girl at 5'11" and have real hard time finding stuff that fits. Torso length and sleeves are perfect for tall women. I got a large (could have gotten away with a medium) and am very happy. It is slightly loose, which is perfect for layering. Thumbholes are simple and never bothersome. Colors are vivid!! Like online pics. Orange may burn your retina, but that's how I like it. Love the hood, too. Get it!!

I'm a fan of the Polartec Hardface material and I have a Mountain Hardware jacket of this material. It's durable, breathable and comfortable. Best of all, it doesn't collect dog hair on the outside like other fleece jackets do.

I ordered a medium, but I usually wear a small in many brands like The North Face, Moutain Hardware, etc. Based on the first review and that it's an athletic fit, I went with the medium. I was not disappointed! It fits perfect, not too tight, not too loose. I'm only 4' 10" so I was concerned it might be too long, but it isn't and rides a little lower than most of my other jackets, but I like it.

I bought the 'black', but, as in the previous review, it is a dark gray/charcoal gray. It's a great color and makes the trimming pop. Most of my jackets have the thumbholes and these are very comfortable and the sleeves aren't too long on me. I haven't had a chance to wear it much, but I can already tell it's going to be a great fall hiking jacket and even a great everyday, go to item. Worth every penny!

I have a bunch of quality jackets from mammut, norrna, patagonia, 66 north and more. This one is the best powerstrech one I've come across.

The 'hardface' IS more sturdy and firmer than normal powerstretch, it can take a lot more beating from for example rock climbing before it will even begin to look like it's been used. And it does block quite some wind.
It also have the grid interior for better moist transportation and breathability - like a patagonia R1 or capilene 4.

I find the fit perfect; long lean cut, no bunching in the arm pits when its under a shell, tighter fit in the underarms - again no bulk under a jacket, the thumbholes - doesn't look like a new invention to me - but somehow just feels better than in any other jacket i've tried (don't notice there's any fabric in/around my palm. I have long arms, and the sleeves are long enough for me, and to actually use the thumbholes - I don't think shorter arms will be a problem though, since the sleeves are quite slim.

The hood fits tight enough around the face, but has space enough for all of my hair when it's done in the back of my head.

Sizechart is accurate, but it is really an athletic fit! My messures are bust 94cm waist 79cm hip108cm I can use both M & L, but went with the large. I'm 5'10, with a long torso and the L has nice hiplenght, I do normally have a lot of of trouble finding sweaters and jackets that's long enough.

The pictures are accurate too, it IS very bright colors, and the black one is NOT black, it's gray like the picture - very pretty!

Great review, thanks for sharing. I agree with the thumbholes. I also have many quality jackets from Norrona, Houdini, etc, but the thumbholes on this particular one is perfect - flat and no bunching. For example, I have the Houdini Power Houdi, and while it fits nice, the thumbholes on that one feels like a major production with layers of fabric, which makes it feel very bothersome.
