    Mammut's climb anything short.

Mammut made the Men's Rumney Short for climbing at boulder fields, sport crags, or multi-pitch routes. This short resists abrasion when you're off-widthing, breathes in warmer weather, and stretches for unimpeded mobility. The climbing-specific gusset helps you stem, flag, and throw with a freedom of movement. This short also features sun protection, a loop for brushes, and a zippered side pocket for your camera.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have now taken these shorts biking, climbing, and even a little swimming. I ordered these a size to large (don't do this), but I just put a belt on them and they are fine. They don't restrict any kind of movement, although the fit is kind of weird. If I had to do it over again, I definitely would have gotten the right size, but they are pretty good. Nothing to write home about, but just kind of your typical cloth shorts

    Dropped the ball a little

IMO mammut makes great gear, but my first day out with these shorts left a hint of a bad taste in my mouth. Was doing a nice easy trad day and warmed up on a 6. I don't recall hitting my leg on anything to the point I noticed but when I reached the top of the pitch, there were four 1/2cm holes on the pocket. The thin linen pants I usually climb with have held up to knee bars with less damage. Still like the pants but I wish they were more durable.

Oh I also found myself between sizes and ended up getting them tailored. Now they fit perfectly so my harness doesn't make them bunch.
