    Great Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I'm going to repeat other reviews. This jacket is really nice. I have a few Mammut products and really like their gear as an Arc'teryx alternative of similar quality. The jacket has a great feel and is a good fit as a synthetic jacket for the Cascades in the pacific Northwest. Medium fits me well at 5'10" 165 lbs and still has enough room to throw over a soft-shell or hardshell for breaks (or both). The ONLY issue is the zipper. I figured it out and can get it on the first shot every time, but it's definitely annoying with gloves on. However, don't let it stop you from buying this jacket. It just takes a second to align.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I wanted to like this jacket. It was warmer than the nano puff in bad days, has much better internal pockets than other belay jackets and is quite stylish. The jacket does have several pitfalls though... Poor zippers that get stuck often, forcing you to remove your gloves and unstick them. The sleeves are much narrower than the torso so the arms fit like a glove while the body of the jacket has a tin of extra space-I haven't had a problem with this with other mammut layers so I figured I'd put it hear since it seems jacket-specific. My last and biggest complaint is the depth of the outer pockets--I can barely fit my gloved hands in them and I am not a large dude 5'10" with average hands size. I've gotten the barfies in this jacket and it was a nightmare trying to warm my hands up when I could barely fit them in my belay jacket for extra warmth. All in all- I think there are better synthetic jackets on the market for the worst weather-arcteryx cerium or some of the rab offerings come to mind.

    Great Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

This jacket is geared toward climbers and, too my surprise, was one of the few micropuffys on the market with a hood, double zipper, and full flank insulation. It does a great job at keeping the wind out and regulating body temperature. Pockets are nice and comfy. The hood is big enough to conform around a climbing helmet but also small enough to stay snug without a helmet. Will shed water nicely if caught out in a light rain. I've seen a few complaints about the zipper, but honestly after the first few days I haven't had any trouble at all. There's kind of a trick to zipping it that I haven't experienced with other double zippered coats, but once you get it, you get it. As for the sizing, I'm 5'10", around 150 lbs, and I purchased a small. It fits perfectly. There is room for a lighter sweatshirt underneath but it doesn't feel baggy or too loose on its own. Layers in nicely with a hard or soft shell. Lastly, it's more durable than it looks, but it's still a micro-puffy coat.

Overall, best product in its class and I would recommend it over any competitors. If you're looking for something similar but a bit warmer check out the Mammut Broad Peak.

Nice jacket, wrong fit for me

    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: medium

I really like the jacket. I'm 5'7 155lbs and the medium size was armpitty on me. Definitely no way to add layers under this for me. Zipper is a lil wierd too.

    Warmer than expected

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I really love this coat for its warmth and light weight. It also has very good wind resistance. Only problem is the velcro cuffs which do not match up well to gloves. But the rest of the coat is great

1st time Mammut customer, very pleased.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I am about 5'7 and 130 pounds, I bought this jacket in a small, and it fits me very well. When I was in search of jacket I was looking for something that would be suitable for work, as well as keeping me toasty in the winter without having the bulk. This jacket totally lives up to all of those things. Its lightweight, great fit, very warm, and it's also surprisingly is extremely waterproof. Chest pocket is convenient for keys, wallets, cell phones, ect. One thing that needs to be improved is the zipper, it tends to be a little tricky at times when you first put it on, but all in all that's a minuscule flaw in comparison to what this jacket has to offer! Totally recommend!

    Lightweight and warm

When I first got this jacket, I thought it seemed a bit too light and delicate, but after having spent a few months of cold weather with it, I can say it's the real deal. The exterior is holding up perfectly and still looks as crisp as ever, and the thing is just plain comfortable. I wear it over a fleece and I simply don't get cold. The stretchy inner pockets are a nice touch, and hood is warm and very adjustable. I'm a big fan of Mammut's designs, and the overall look of this thing doesn't disappoint. Yeah, the zipper can be annoying (I still sometimes have trouble getting it started) but I'll let it slide.

      great jacket, but

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

I love everything about my Rime Pro except for the zipper. The two way zipper works it's way up from the bottom every single time I put the jacket on. This infuriates me, I don't think that I've worn it yet without blurting out an f-bomb or two when I go to take it off and have to dink around with the zipper to get it undone.

      Great puffy

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Typical synthetic puff jacket. Mammut uses the best fabrics (Pertex) for this one so although it feels light and delicate, it's burl. If you live in a wet place (NE,PNW, AK) you'll want a synthetic jacket rather than down. Warm with good pockets. I use it guiding on Rainier, if the weather is going to be rain/snow, this is the coat I take. Great ski jacket too.

      Looks good, works well

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Good looking jacket that is also very warm. It's water resistant but I wouldn't want to wear it in a heavy rainstorm for extended periods.

The build quality and materials are top notch. However, I can't help feeling that the material would tear if I snagged it on something - the jacket exterior "feels" very thin and feathery. Still, it hasn't ripped or anything, yet.

It's a very lightweight jacket for how warm it is.

Materials and construction are very high quality.

Best hood/throat fit I've had on a jacket yet.

      Looks good.

Jacket exterior material feels fragile, like it'd tear easily.

The zipper is sometimes annoying to close.

Overall very happy with the purchase.

      Great Jacket!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Great jacket, much warmer than I expected for the light weight. It packs very small and looks pretty nice. My one beef is with the weak zipper. It's small and is sometimes a pain to get closed, especially when you're losing a bit of dexterity in the cold. Awesome, very usable hood is a big plus.

I'm 6'2", 165 lbs and it fits a little wide in the torso, which is nice for layering. Colors are true to the picture. Very satisfied.

      great synthetic puff

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

love the fit and feel of this Mammut piece. big stretch pockets on the inside will fit big skins and love the mix of fabrics. fits great and will get lots of use out of this. Also seems like a good value! very happy

What's the length of this jacket? I'm 5'7 with wide shoulders and big arms and looking for something that won't be too long on me. If this jacket would be too long, can someone suggest another that might be more suitable? Thanks.

How does this jacket compare to the Arcteryx Atom LT warmth-wise? It looks similar but possibly a bit less warm....even though it's a few oz. heavier. Thanks
