Mars Attacks!

  • Height: 5'2"
    Weight: 120 lbs
    Size Purchased: Small

I was really excited about a number of features of this jacket. Number one being the hand gaiters, however, the material is loose and very thin. I don't think they are going to perform the way I had anticipated. The hood is also VERY roomy and makes your head look like you are an alien from Mars Attacks. BUT, I ordered the jacket in Radiance, and it really is a beautiful color. The zippers are so-so quality. It is a very warm jacket and is compressible into a provided stuff sack about the size of my 1 liter camel back water bottle. For sizing help, I am 5'2", 125 lbs, petite with athletic build, and the small is roomy enough for me to layer without feeling constricted. Overall, good purchase, but I would have expected more even buying at the sale price.

Hi Tia,

I'm curious what more you would have expected? I've been doing endless puffy research. I'm mainly a boulderer and sport climber, but I get really cold, really quickly. I'm wondering what the flaws are exactly in this jacket and if they are going to matter if I'm not in freezing alpine conditions?

Unanswered Question

Is the Mammut Pilgrim Down Jacket for women waterproof? If the answer to this question is no, is the jacket water resistant? thanks
