Fantastic double rope

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Used it for alpine, and rock multipitch requiring double rope raps.

Had it for a little over 2 years and still in great conditions. My go to double rope for sure!

Great Rope

This is a great rope and just to be clear, it is a 1/2 (or Double) rope. It is not a Twin, although most stores seem to lump the Double & Twin ropes in just one category.
Anyway, I purchased a set of these in 2010 for ice climbing and used them many times on both Ice and alpine multi-pitch climbs. They work great and have held up very well. By now the teflon coating has somewhat worn off, but the only way to tell is that the rope is not as "silky" as it used to be. About a month ago I had a rock (size of 2 fists put together) fall from about 75ft and hit the ledge and one of the ropes. It created a softspot in the rope where it hit so I am replacing one of the ropes. Very satisfied with the performance of this product

Silky

So far so good. I am a big Mammut rope fan, and these are no disappointment. Realize that the sheaths may be a bit thin for someone looking for prolonged durability, or cut resistance. Admit that I have not had the opportunity to fall over a sharp flake, (and hopefully won't in the near future). Know a few trusted guides who say they hold up great though. I comment later when I get more chance to scuff em up a bit.

Solid

Super lightweight. Dry coating also lets it slide nicely. So far it is showing very little sign of wear. Mammut makes some great ropes.
