Every aspect of the Nordwand is geared towards making your life in the mountains better, from the 3/4-length side zips that make ventilation and removal a breeze, to the integrated snow gaiters that adjust around anything from a 3-season alpine boot to the burliest ski boots you can throw on. Removable suspenders ensure that you'll get the fit you want without having to worry about getting snow all up in your business. The waistband is adjustable as well, and to help protect the pants from both crampons and ski edges, Mammut added extra-high Schoeller-Keprotec instep patches inside both ankles. A zippered leg pocket gives you a place for your map, compass, and whatever other small equipment you want to have on hand at all times.
