Niva GTX Parka - Women's

Skiers are messed up. When everyone else runs inside, we go out. When no one wants to drive, we head for the most treacherous roads we can find. When the neighbor lady is moaning about the weather and talking about how I should've moved to Florida already because my sister lives there and plays shuffleboard with Gloria every day, we're busy actually having fun. Bad-weather fun, though, can be dependent on having gear like the Mammut Niva GTX Women's Parka. A heavy-duty ski and snowboard parka that's laminated with a two-layer Gore-Tex membrane to seal the storm out and packed with Ajungilak OTI Element synthetic insulation to trap your heat in, the Niva's cut out for the gnarliest days on the hill particularly when you're riding lifts and staying still for juuuust a tad longer than you might like.

To enable layering on the extra-cold days, Mammut gave the Niva a relatively roomy cut, and also made it a little bit longer for extra coverage and a more freeridey look. A detachable powder skirt, fully taped seams, and Lycra cuffs prevent moisture from sneaking in the gaps, and the adjustable hood is fully compatible with helmets, so you can really batten down the hatches when the snow's blowing sideways and the rime is accumulating before your eyes. If you do get a little warm, Mammut equipped the Niva with two-way underarm vents to help you cool down. It also hooked up front, side, sleeve, and internal pockets to provide handy spots for lip balm, snacks, your phone, and your RFID ski pass, so you don't hold up the line—nobody wants to be that person.
