Takes on technical terrain with stability and speed, and it's just for women.

A lively personality and robust build make the Women's MTR 201 Trail Running Shoe ideal for running in the mountains. All the basics of a worthy trail shoe are here: the upper is breathable, the toothy outsole is tough and grippy, and there's a toe cap up front to protection your toes from hazards on the trail. You'll find these features on most trail shoes, so what really sets this beauty apart are the details. These little bits and pieces prove that the MTR was made by designers who live and breathe the life of the mountains. A free-sliding webbing system keeps the laces in exactly the right place as you move fast up hills and across trail. The midsole has targeted cushioning that reduces ankle fatigue by creating a stable platform that keeps you centered in foot-twisting, rock-infested technical terrain. And that toothy outsole mentioned at the beginning? Its pattern matches that the shape of a sonar wave, with bi-directional lugs that improve acceleration on the sprint and deceleration when you need to slow down quickly. Inside this shoe you'll find that the fit is close and snug, which makes it all the easier to precisely plant your foot right where you need it. Altogether these features add up to a shoe that's just the right balance of toughness, stability, and comfort so you can take control on the trail.

Mammut makes a range of trail shoes for a variety of purposes, including running, fast-packing, and approach. The shoe that most closely compares to the MTR 201 is the MTR 201 Dyneema. Instead of the single-material mesh upper used for the MTR 201, the Dyneema version uses a blend of three materials including Dyneema, which Mammut is tougher than carbon fiber and in some cases even tougher than steel. If you're not in need of extreme protection and prefer a lighter, more breathable shoe, original MTR 201 is your shoe of choice.
