I have a 32"-33" waist. Am I better off sizing up to a L or with a (possibly) snug M. I have a BD Couloir which is a M/L and fits fine but isn't anything gigantic on me (if that helps)

I would suggest going up to the large, just to make room for any layers if you are climbing in cooler temps. I find that it's nice to have a little extra space for adjustment.

First Timer

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Used this harness for the first time today and it was very comfortable and reliable. Able to hold an entire sport rack with its 4 large gear loops. Was comfortable both belaying and falling on. I would recommend to those just beginning their climbing career. Overall, great harness to have on.

Great Start Up

This is a great start up package. The harness is true to its size and is very comfy and I feel super safe using it. The gear loops are perfect sizes and can old a ton of hardware. It stores to a good size in its mesh bag, I keep it in its bag because it fits well in my backpack. Great deal for a beginner

Solid Package

I'm a beginner and this package made it easy to get into the sport without a huge investment. I'm 6'2, 230 and everything has stood up to the stress a bigger guy like me has thrown at it. I've been gym climbing for roughly 4 months now and I haven't had any problems with the harness, belay device or chalk bag. The harness fits comfortably and I can wear it cinched down for 3-4 hours in the gym and not even notice it. The only complaint I have, which is very small, is that the chalk ball supplied does a poor job dispensing chalk. I would recommend this to anyone getting into the sport.

Great Combo

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

You can't go wrong with this kit. Mammut quality at a beginner price. Mine came with the Element belay device, which has worked flawlessly so far. As said before the harness is very comfortable and well made. Chalk bag is nothing special, but does its job well.

this harness is fairly light weight and very comfortable. You can hang several minutes in it without it digging in. I don't care for the atc though.

Incredible harness

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This review is for the harness only... not the rest of the kit included in the package.

Very comfortable, lightweight, bombproof harness. I've put months and months of use on this thing and I'm still impressed by its durability and comfort. Six hours with it on and I don't find myself even thinking about it.
