  • Gender: Female
  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I wore these pants for 32 days straight - they held up to everything and they had NO tears, holes, etc... TOUGH! I wore them in the Pamir mountains in -20F to 70F (with/without long underwear); with crampons, on rock, ice, rain, in snow, rivers, etc...
These softshell pants were lightweight and though I lost substaintial weight, the adjustable belt kept them on when I went down a size. They are not waterproof, but they dried really fast... until I would soak them again and again (darn river crossings!). And the cuffs are great, fits with ski boots and can be tightened for regular running shoes. Plus, was surprised after a month they didn't stink! If they ever wear out (unlikely); they are worth the cost to get another pair.

Great pants

I liked these pants much more than I expected. I wore them on a hike to King's Peak in Utah on the 4th of July this year and they were fantastic. The length was good (I'm 5'5"), the stretch was amazing as it allowed the cuffs to stay put snugly around my boots (a bonus on the scree slope of death!), and the breatheability was top notch. They wind and water resistance was much appreciated when the storm came rolling in; the pants stayed dry for longer than I expected. As I knew they were NOT waterproof I wasn't surprised when I became soaked to the skin and quite cold when it poured rain for hours and the windchill was below freezing. I was a muddy, sopping mess at the end, but these pants dried in a matter of minutes so I could put them back on quickly to avoid the bloodthirsty mosquitoes!

Bottom line: these babies are going with me to lots more places.

Solid hiking pants!

Tested them on my treck in Caucasus - lovely. Super comfy and stylish! A bit pricey for what they offer in my opinion - that is why only 4 stars. Please never confuse "water resistant" with "water proof". These pants are not for heavy rain! I got soaked while crossing rain level in mountains. They, sure, can take any trail with you, but you need a hard shell when going to high altitudes.

I'm 5'5", 100lbs, should I choose size 2 or 4? Thanks.

I'm also 5'5" and weigh ~110lbs and the size 4 pants I have are a little bigger than I prefer. When I bought them I was closer to 117lbs and they fit a lot better. I hope that helps.
