Tubular Dyneema 8mm Contact Sling

Mammut's amazingly thin 8mm Tubular Dyneema Contact Slings are less than half the weight and bulk of standard spectra or nylon slings. Thin in stature, but beefy in strength, use the Tubular Dyneemas to lighten your trad rack. Contact slings are ideal for placing gear on trees or flakes, as well as extending gear placements to keep your rope running smoothly.

Bottom Line: Slings are important, but these won't weigh you down.

Slings don't get any lighter

These are absolutely the smallest and lightest slings you’ll ever find. They’re so skinny that you don’t even want to trust the things, but they hold 22kN. The long piece works perfectly for a cordelette and when you trick-tipple the shoulder-length ones they are hardly as thick as a quickdraw. If you’re counting ounces, replace all your slings with these. You’ll be happy you did.

The best solution to this problem is the tiny Mammut slings. Just got back from a trip that included climbing in Red Rocks, Joshua Tree, and St. George, and of all the wear on my gear, the slings showed the least (even after setting anchors from bolts to TR in St. George). The only downside is the price....
