Mammut's amazingly thin 8mm Dyneema slings are less than half the weight and bulk of standard spectra or nylon slings; but don't let their skimpy appearance fool you. These are full strength Spectra runners (22 kN) designed for climbing where bulk and weight must be kept to a minimum. Mammut's innovative stitching process allows for their ultra thin design. Weight is only 0.6 ounces!!!

Bottom Line: Awesome design and weight savings in a compact package.

They rock

Dyneema is a different name brand for Spectra -- same stuff. The key to these slings' narrow dimension is in the way they are sewn together. They are great for most applications except where you might be worried about excessive wear.

Good Stuff

The Dyneema slings are great. They take up considerably less space then spectra slings. Wear seems to be consistent with that of spectra (they wear pretty fast). By that all I mean is they get fuzzy. I highly recommend these for extenders.

Gotta get'em

These slings are excellent. They are lightweight, stong, and somewhat durable. They do wear a bit quickly as compared to other slings (black diamond, rock empire...), but the their sleekness makes up for that. They are so thin and light that my climbing partner refers to them as my "dental floss" slings.
