Description

Minimal bulk, maximal warmth.

When you're hunkered down at basecamp, you need gear that packs down about that small but will provide lots of warmth, like the Mammut Men's Broad Peak II Down Jacket. You can't beat it on a blustery night, because the 750-fill power goose down is super warm. Keep wearing it when you are making coffee in the morning and the Pertex Microlight shell can shed snow and water if the clouds start to drip. Then the weather breaks, and it's time to go, so you pack up the minimalist jacket in your pack without taking up too much space, because it weights only 11oz and stows inside its left hand pocket.

  • Pertex Microlight (polyamide ripstop) shell
  • Water-resistant
  • 750-fill power goose down
  • Jacket can be stowed in left front pocket
  • Drawstring hem

hi i bought a mammut broad peak about one month ago, and i see in the outer layer that defects are appearing almost every time i use it (as if one line of the textile is stretched and causes a visible line for many centimeters alongthe jacket). does someone experience the same?

Excellent

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Mammut stands for quality. Fit is vital for me - at 6'3" it's tough to find a jacket that's athletic in cut. Why this jacket? 1. fits me perfectly, 2. TWO draw hem cords - perfectly balances with synching both sides, 3. good color (black), 4. chest pocket - can stuff entire jacket into it, and 5. warm. Overall a great design and well-executed. Typical Swiss.

Packable Heat Zone

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

Great jacket that is well constructed and very packable into it's own Napoleon pocket. Lightweight and very warm. I am 6'3", 225 lbs and the XL is just right. Length overall is perfect and sleeve length is spot on. I am looking forward to wearing on the mountain this winter under a gore powder jacket. Should be a great combo. Highly recommend this product. So much so that I bought one for my wife as well.

Tango7,
Small is a very relative term isn't it. I have this jacket, and while it is slimmer than a Patagonia Down Sweater, it is a more full fit than an Arc'teryx Cerium LT. The jacket fit it best compares to is a MHW Nitrous. I am very close to your size and take a Medium in this jacket. Still room for layering, but it gives a nice trim fit. You will have plenty of length in torso and arms. Trust me on this one.

Comfortable Coat

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: Runs small

This is an awesome jacket. Very warm and well constructed. My only complaint is the backwards Euro zipper - its very difficult to work. Coat runs just a little small.
