The versatile and tough Mammut Borah DLX Hiking Shoe handles the abuse of your weekend ascents, but offers a casual design that accompanies you on your downtown runs as well.

  • A breathable Dri-Lex lining lets air in, while a padded, gusseted tongue keeps rock and debris out when you find yourself sweating and off the beaten path
  • Durable suede and nylon mesh upper and a protective rubber toe rand weather the elements and protect you from accidental rock encounters
  • Removable Ortholite cushioned insole allows for maximization of comfort and wicks moisture so you aren’t trudging through your own sweat

Bottom Line: A versatile fit.

Best Shoes I've Had

By:
May 18, 2011

I'm a rock climber and am out between 150 and 200 days a year. I've had these shoes for a couple of years now, and I really, really love them. I've worn them everywhere, from the wet forests of Kentucky to the sandstone deserts of the Southwest, limestone the canyons of Turkey, and more. I've worn them in snow, rain, heat, cold, etc... and they're really amazing. They haven't broken down at all -and I don't foresee needing a new pair anytime soon. They're super well-built, and work amazingly as approach shoes and hiking shoes.
The only thing: be prepared for them to feel a bit stiff at first; but don't worry, they'll break in.

Great shoes, sizing way off

I really like these shoes. I have wide feet so I have some trouble finding shoes and these fit really well and are very comfortable as hiking and as approach shoes. The rubber is pretty sticky and I haven't had problems with sliding off sandstone, quartzite or granite. Like the other reviewer said, they are really stiff at first but they break in and get comfortable very quickly.

Sizing is way off--I had to order a full size smaller than what I usually wear in US sizes. The reason I gave them 4 stars is that heel is pretty wide and my foot slips a little no matter how tight the shoe is laced.
