Great Probe

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I really like this purchase. Thankfully it has not been used yet in a real emergency but I've practiced with it. Easy to assemble/dis-assemble. Easily stored. To some degree, probes are probes but at the same time subtle differences are important. This one is light but also has a good extended length. Pluses in both categories.

What is the extended length of this probe?...

What is the extended length of this probe? What is the folded length?

320cm extended and 44cm collapsed.

Solid probe

Super burly probe for use in areas with a deep snowpack. Great for SAR applications, avy rescue. The extra length is great for probing for crevasses while looking for a safe base camp location on glaciers during winter and spring when snow bridges can be very thick. Easy to deploy, feels solid while blasting through ice layers. Great price. If your probe feels flimsy, replace it with this one.
