The Austrialp Neve Step-In Crampon provides an idea compromise for those times when aluminum crampons aren’t quite tough enough but 12-point ’poons are overkill. From walkups in the Cascades to glacier crossings in South America, these step-in 10-point crampons keep you on your feet. Mammut added tough horizontal frontpoints to increase sheer resistance, so you don’t get shut down by a single pitch of steep neve.

Bottom Line: Not too heavy, not too flimsy.

Talk shop with all the gear freaks out there: ask 'em questions, upload/browse photos, and give your 2¢.

"Step-ins" will not work with the Montrail CTC Mid GTX. Step-in require a toe and heel bail, where those shoes have neither...Check out any "universal" mounted crampon for those shoes.
