The Mammut Men’s All-Year ¾ Pant gives you four-season moisture management for everything from backpacking to backcountry skiing. The ¾-length doesn’t bunch up under ski boots or heavy socks, and the body-mapped blend of merino wool and polyester insulates and fights odors on longer expeditions.

Not perfect, but VERY close.

  • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have these and the full length, and between the two of them it's a bit of a mixed bag. The full length for a skinny guy like me, 5'11 and 145lbs, are not nearly close fitting enough and bunch under socks, so I purchased these. the 3/4 have the opposite problem; they leave a half-inch gap between my regular hiking socks and the garment. BUT, with all that said, let me say this; I have worn them both mountaineering in the Rockies, backpacking in the Tetons and across Utah. The perform beautifully, and the 3/4s and their gap actually help dump a little heat when you find yourself post-holing. They regulate very well, and fit all across the rest of me like a second skin. I highly recommend them, if you don't mind the gap.

I bought these to avoid having the underwear/ski sock overlap under the tongue of my ski boot. I found the material around the thighs to be scratchy and a bit tight. The cut was such that the material just below the waist in the back was a little loose with some "gather" folds while standing. When pulled on over "over-the-calf" ski socks, the ends of the legs crept to the top and off the socks. I was surprised by these shortcomings as Swiss products are usually of the best quality.

Feel like they are falling down

I got a pair of these because I never could figure out what to do with my long underwear and socks when I put my ski boots on. When I tried them on the fit was a bit strange, it felt like something was falling down, either by boxers or the long underwear. I called to ask about returning them and the lady I talked to at BC talked me into at least trying them before I sent them back, she said if I really did not like them I could return them, maybe just a ploy to get me to try them and then not take them back, however, I have skinned up Mt. Hood 3 times since I bought them and they do work well, about the right anount of warmth for a 20-30 degree day, no "bunching" at the ankle and they have not fallen off yet. I would get another pair.
