The Mammut Men’s Alagna Softshell Jacket comes to the aid of hardcore alpine enthusiasts. Its Gore-Tex water- and -wind-proof fabric seals out the elements, and provides superb breathability whether your slogging up a mountainside or slaying powder turns on the slopes.

  • Gore-Tex three-layer shell provides superior protection against the elements
  • Two-way underarm vents lets you cool off when you get a bit heated on the hike to the ridge
  • Articulated elbows and a regular fit give you plenty of unrestricted movement when you ski or snowboard
  • A removable powder skirt and Lycra hand gaiters block snow
  • M.A.P. hood helps protect your face from the wind and snow, and it adjusts easily
  • A plethora of pockets for your lip balm, multi-tool, and small essentials

Bottom Line: You’re in good hands with Alagna.

Does the Alagna jacket fit roomy or snug? I'm 6"2', 230 pounds and bought the XXL Mammut Pizol jacket. It's too big and want to return/exchange it. I'd hate to exchange it for an XXL Alagna if it is going to fit too big as well. Any thoughts?

Nope, it's just there to keep your layers underneath dry. You should wear a fleece or other warm jacket underneath when it's cold.

Bought this last year and loved it. Lost all of my gear in a fire recently and am going back for second Alagna Jkt. Fit is great, features are perfect and overall the best piece of gear I've ever bought. Love the new blue color and will get the pants to match the zipper color. Something to be said for loosing it all in a fire....i get all new gear.

Hi Rod, what size would you suggest for me? I am 5'10" and 170 lbs with a medium build. Thanks!

What exactly is the MAP hood? Does it fit over a helmet? Also, I've heard that Mammut product usually fit fairly snug. Is that true?

I don't know about snugness but the MAP hood stands for "Mammut Advanced Periphery Hood" it's designed to not restrict your field of vision.

Hello, I have never bought Mammut before and am unsure if I should order a medium or large- and I want to get it right before I spend $600 on a jacket. I am 5'10" and weigh 170lbs with a medium build. I generally layer one base layer, a thicker fleece and then the jacket. Any recommendations? Thanks

Mammut makes the best jackets you won't be disappointed. Their stuff all made in europe except a few things. GO with the large and if its to big send it back.

Chris, if you buy this jacket and it doesn't fit like you want it to, backcountry will definitely take it back. Shipping will be free to get to you and if you don't like it you won't be out $600 but prob around $10 to ship it back for the exchange which will ship free to you again. Or you can always ask a gear expert if you're in a hurry.
