If you're building a rack for lightweight alpine climbing or long trad routes than you need to start off with this 5-pack of Mammut 8mm x 24in Dyneema Wire Quickdraws. Two wire gate carabiners and the lightest shoulder-length sling available combine to give you the ultimate in weight-saving versatility. Fold the sling over for short, quickdraw-length runners on splitter cracks, or extend them to full length to decrease rope drag on meandering alpine routes. The Dyneema slings do not absorb water and the wire gate 'biners don't freeze shut, making this quickdraw package an ideal choice for the mountains.
Bottom Line: Light and versatile–two of the most important qualities to have in the mountains.

Update your trad rack, go light weight, I dare you. You'll never go back to nylon. Stronger, lighter, and better. FYI- not better for prussiks/ascenders/descender-backup. Only better as runners...they're sweet.

Update your rack with super good ’biners, and super light and tough as nails slings. I'm going to replace all the ’biners on my cams with these ’biners, and I can always use extra slings.
