Onsight Climbing Shoe - Women's

The female counterpart to Mad Rock’s best-selling Flash, the Women’s Onsight Climbing Shoe gives lady rock jocks all-around performance whether you’re pulling on plastic or jamming granite cracks. Mad Rock gave the Onsight a softer flex, narrow interior volume, and a higher instep for a more feminine fit. Easily adjustable hook-and-loop closures and a Hooker heel cup give you the high performance you need, and the embossed graphics on the suede leather upper don’t compromise your girly style.

Bottom Line: Go for the onsight with this all-around shoe.

Not as amazing as I expected them to be from all the reviews.

I usually wear a size 8 in normal shoes, but the size 8 (the only ones left online!) is a little big. The good thing is, it doesn't seem like they'll stretch much.

In addition, although these are suppose to be women specific shoes, the backs come up a bit high so can dig into the back of your foot.

That being said, the shoes are alright - I'm still able to play on 11's and 12's, but I don't trust them with precision moves as they're not very cambered and my feet slide inside the shoes.

Mad Rock Onsight Rokks My Face Off

By:
June 8, 2009

Could I use any other words to tell you how amazing this shoe is?

I've been climbing for (to spare myself from my own old age), let's just say quite a few years now-- And this shoe does it all. It's a great snug fit, especially for my narrow girlie-feet, and because it's unlined, it seems to just contour to every curve. (Feet never sounded so... hott.) Note on sizing: I wear a 6 street shoe, and I own ::several pairs of these:: in a 5. The 5 works great for me, but I hear most people are true to size. I like 'em snug. They're still comfy enough to wear through a day of sport climbing, and easy enough for the on-and-off of bouldering.

On top of the great fit, they really perform. Similar to the 5.10 Women's Anasazi (for nearly half the price, with better rubber IMHO), they are a great all-around shoe. Heel-hooks well, edges really well, and if you're precise with your feet, you'll manage just fine on overhangs.

These are perfect for beginners all the way to the advanced crew-- And for under $75 (not to mention the free shipping), you can't ask for a better deal!

Did I mention that these shoes rokk my face off? (Oh, I did?) Well, then I'm done here.

These fit pretty true to size... I think mine are even a bit small... I wish they were a bit stickier, but they will do the trick

Comfortable, Sticky & Cute All-In-One

By:

Most comfortable shoe I have yet climbed in. Makes it an excellent choice for the gym for beginners and advanced climbers alike. No strong, foul odor like the Five-Ten Anasazis. Cute design for female climbers who are happy to be tailored to and tired of climbing in shoes designed for and styled for men. Besides the gym, rubber adhears well to granite, volcanic, and even sandstone. Good overall shoe when both comfort and excellent adhearance are desired.

beginner opinion

By:
November 23, 2009

I'm just a beginner and this is my first time owning my own shoes, but they're obviously way better than the ones at the gyms. I bought a size smaller than my regular shoe size and it ended up being way too small. The next size up is still smaller than what I'm used to, but it's better for gripping and doesn't leave my feet hurting so no problems there. Also, I have no idea how they will perform outside, so we'll see when that time comes....

It's good

By:

After reading other reviews for this shoe I decided to try it out. I'm relatively new to climbing so I don't have much experience with other climbing shoes, but so far, these have been pretty good. Comfortable... and cute of course. They've accomplished everything I've asked of them so far.

True to size as others said. Originally I bought half a size smaller and it was just way too tight for my comfort level. I've had my current pair for about a month now and they're still snug.

Best Female shoe on the market!

By:
June 8, 2009

I climb everything from steep cobbles to cracks in the desert. Even thin slippery limestone and alpine rock routes and these are the shoes I always grab. The break in time is short and fits a women's specific foot to a T! True to size. Durable rubber, sticks to any rock type. Best value and best performer of all the women's shoes I've worn. I have about three pairs in rotation. A very old pair for the gym, my broke-in pair for everything and always a new pair that I'm preparing to take outside. As a bonus there are cute flowers carved into the leather too!
