The Mad Rock M5 Climbing Shoe excels in a variety of styles whether you enjoy bouldering, gym climbing, sport climbing, or even crack climbing. Its extreme versatility is due to the Arch Flex system that utilizes a flexible R2 rand in order to bend the Tek Flex upper for overhanging boulder problems or keep it flat for technical face climbs. The Power Upper covers the toe with rubber so you can toe-hook or climb cracks comfortably, and the Torque Heel features a 3D molded rubber with jagged edges that simultaneously offers a snug fit and provides excellent heel-hooking. Two hook-and-loop straps give this shoe a glove-like fit.
Mad Rock covered the M5's sole with super sticky Science Friction 3.0 rubber that's also highly durable so you can climb in this pair of shoes for a long time. Even though this shoe is incredibly flexible at the arch, a combination of the polyester footbed and polycarbonate midsole makes the toe and heel relatively stiff in order to keep your foot comfortable on vertical walls. It has an asymmetric shape for high performance, and it also has a sharper edge so you can stand on tiny holds and ledges with ease. Size small if you're looking to boulder in this shoe, and size larger if you want to climb cracks and vertical routes comfortably.
