Lowe Alpine made the TFX Wilderness 65 Pack with an adjustable, flexible back system and a front entry system, so your backpacking gear feels comfortable on your back and items are easy to find once you reach basecamp. Both the hipbelt and internal frame flex with your hips and torso without compromising stability, so you don't feel like you have an unwieldy llama strapped to your back as you hike up the trail. Store extra layers and snacks in the TFX Wilderness Pack's two large bellow side pockets, and keep sunscreen and trailmaps in the lid pockets. The lid of this Lowe Alpine expedition pack extends another 900 cubic inches for extra food and gear.

I have really severe back problems, so I have to be pretty cautious when buying a pack. This pack more than lived up to my expectations. It's really light when you get it on, super comfy, the pockets are in all the right (useful) places! I've used it for a couple weekends away, and then backpacking across Europe... couldn't wait to put it on in the morning!

I have the ND version of this pack, and my 1.5 L hydration bladder fits in no problem. I generally carry a bottle as well if I need to carry more water than that at a time, but I usually have pretty regular water sources on my hikes. The sleeve would comfortably fit a 2 L bladder. 3L might be a tight fit.

If you will be carrying a large and heavy load, this pack will work great. I used one on a Yellowstone backpacking trip last year and found it to be an amazingly comfortable carry. Despite the extra weight (a couple bottles of wine and way too many clothes) I packed and didn't need, the Wilderness pack handled the load just fine and had plenty of pockets and lash points in the right places, etc. Used the included rain cover too when it rained. Nice to have one so handy and included with the pack.
