The Lowe Alpine Powder Line 22 Pack carries your essentials for a morning dawn patrol. An internal pocket holds your skins and shovel, goggles or a music player go in the padded pocket, and your skis, snowboard, or snowshoes attach to the back of the Powder Line 22. A hip-belt pocket keeps snacks close at hand as you skin up the trail, and the molded, ventilated back panel helps prevent back sweating.
Bottom Line: Hike up, then carve down with your essentials in Lowe Alpine's Powder Line 22 Pack.
Nice pack, holds a good amount for it's size. Haven't taken it in the snow yet, but it works well for hiking here in Hawaii...would be nice if it had a few more pockets, but other than that I like it.
This pack carries a lot of features for it's size. It has a really great ski carrying system that hold skis diagonally and without any wobble. The little gray loops on the pack hold a helmet securely, making it easy to take your helmet along with you when touring. Take the essentials, leave the rest.

Yeah probably. It is a mesh, so all the perforations will rub around as it moves, chaffing your back. Also kind of depends on the activity and duration of said activity.
I bought this for in-area and side-country skiing down south this summer. It has everything you'd want in a ski pack; convenient ski carry system, (both a-frame and diagonal), a pocket for a small shovel and probe, a pocket for your hydration bladder and a nice fuzzy pocket for goggles. Definitely too small for anything more than a 1/2 day trip away from civilization. That being said, I'm probably ordering the 35l version of this pack to compliment the 22l model. Cheers.
I have had this pack for a couple of years. I haven't used it to carry my skis, but I have used it for day trips to the slopes and on a few snowshoe exkursions. It's great for the slopes since I can fit my gear in it and it has a low profile making it easy for the lifts. For snowshoeing it has been great to carry the extra layer in when I got hot, lunch, and water.
I bought this pack because my 2800 cu. in. pack was too large for most ski tours. I am really impressed! It is small, light, and minimal; everything has its place (goggles, shovel, skis, etc). This is probably the most well thought out pack I've seen, but not overkill.
