Big ski descents in the spring, mid-winter mountaineering, or trad climbing come summer; however you get down (or up), the Lowe Alpine Mountain Attack 35:45 Backpack will carry the gear you need to reach the summit, and the valley, safely. Its design puts a premium on versatility, so the Mountain Attack is home to rope straps, crampon attachments, gear loops, and large ski holders, while the front is fitted with Lowe Alpine's HeadLocker ice axe clips, which are specifically designed to secure modern low-profile ice tools. Both the frame and hip belt can be removed when you're climbing with the pack on, and the lid can be heightened to make room for extra gear when your route requires it. Lowe Alpine used its TriShield Grid fabric to keep the pack light but durable enough to withstand heavy wear from rock and ice, and it made all the zippers large for easy use when you're sporting heavily insulated gloves and mittens.
