The Lowa Tempest Lo Hiking Boot for Men is Lowa's most versatile outdoor shoe. It's good for light hiking, scrambling on rocks, or more urban hikes to class or work. The Vibram sole has enough bite to take you confidently through the woods and the suede upper enough style to wear to work. The Tempest's climate control insole uses the natural pump action of your stride to force water vapor out of the shoe ensuring dry and comfy feet. Moisture management is enhanced further by a quick-drying Dri-Lex liner. The Tempest hikers wear comfortably for the long haul thanks to an injected PU mid-sole, a Cordura ankle band, and the stability and support of a nylon shank. This shoe runs large, select ½ size below your normal shoe size.

Bottom Line: Buy the Lowa Tempest Lo Boot for hiking. Wear them everywhere.

Lowa Tempest ...Take On Colorado!!

By:
April 19, 2007

I have been using the Lowa Tempest shoes for many years.I'm 6'2 210 lbs.So I prefer a shoe with a lot of support and traction. I use them for family hiking in the dry rocky terrain of the Front Range in Denver. And mountain biking with family and friends. But I also use another pair for my job in a local hospital. A great shoe with plenty of potential and of course they look great.

Nice for light hiking and wearing around town

These are my everyday shoes I wear to work and they are a great comfortable shoe with a good Vibram sole. They fit well on my average feet. They would be snug on wide feet. (I have the current model) I wear them light day hiking and have mountain biked in them (I use flat pedals) Great shoes and yes they are low tops so no ankle support. I have never done any hardcore hiking so they are perfect for me. Only complaint is the round laces but thats almost any boot these days. Why in the @$&* do boot companies put thick round laces in boots that put 16 or more little 5mm bumps up the top of your foot. Come on! Anyway I put flat laces in them and now they feel great. Oh yeah now that I think about it the stock insole is just a flat piece and I had to replace that too. It's a 3 star product but with new laces and insole it goes up to like 4 and a half.

Big Feet and Old Shoes

By:
April 4, 2006

My husband has big feet (size 14), so when he finds a pair of shoes that fit, he wears them. In fact, he wears them out. Which is what he did with his last pair of Lowa Lo Tempest Hiking Boots. Wore the tread down close to nothing, he did. Unfortunately, Lowa has seen fit to redesign their current line of footwear, not including the Lo Tempest boot any longer. And their new models are, quite frankly, not to my husband's liking - a little too "hip" for the old geezer.

So, when I located a replacement pair of his favorites on your website, I was elated. He's out at sea, but returning this week. His new boots are ready and waiting his arrival, as am I. Your service was great, your selection just what we needed. We'll surely be back in future.

Lo to Low

By:
June 1, 2006

I was looking for a low hiking shoe for summer and liked the style of the Tempest Lo Hiking Boot. I have had them a month now, and have yet to wear them hiking (afraid I'd twist an ankle). I think the soles are too thick and narrow, so I feel like I'm doing a balancing act when I wear them. Maybe they would be better as a mid (don't know). Have resigned to just wearing them to work.
