Lowa made the Men's AL-T Orix Lo Hiking Shoe to be cool and comfortable during hikes and trail runs in hot weather. Open mesh uppers on the AL-T Orix Lo let your feet breathe as they chug up the mountain or sprint through evergreen forests. Polyurethane midsoles give your feet sturdy, shock-absorbing platforms to bounce along on, and grippy rubber outsoles give you traction on dirt and rocks.

What is the width of this shoe? I need a wide shoe.

These shoes are just a hair wider than medium width. Merrell's and Vasque's fit a little wider for my feet.Hope that helps.

Comfort-wise: 5 stars.
Durability-wise: 2 stars.
Need I say more? Okay, I will. The cool looking rubber outsoles that come up and form a cage around the foot tend to peel away fairly soon. The first pair I ordered was sent back within 1 week of simply walking around the block with the dog. The second pair is holding up much better BUT the rubber is de-laminating with these too, after only 2 months. For $120 you'd expect more. . .like two years of heavy use. Not the case here. Two months of light use and already thinking about replacement.
On the up side, the shoe is sooooooo comfortable. Truly the most comfortable hiker I've found. Merrell, Vasque are secondary to Lowa in the comfort dept.
