Good choice for cold weather

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This is not my first product made by Louis Garneau. Had several gloves, bib shorts and some compression base layers. Was very satisfied with all goods. This bib tights have made my impression of Louis Garneau cloths even better. Very nice material, plus feels very comfortable. Good stretchability. Durable and really kept me warm during rids with temperature up to -5 C. Reflective stripes really come of after several washes, but this is only one disadvantage so far.

Good, but a little drawback.

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This bib tights is a good buy. It's warm, very streachable and comfortable to wear. The material used seems from high quality and very durable. I just wash and wear, and it's good again for another ride. I guess the only drawback is; after a few wash you will notice the reflective material on the calf area starts to peel off. Other than that, it's all good.

Warm...

  • Gender: Male
  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I love the warmth and fit of these bibs so far. Biking in low 40's is perfectly comfortable. However, I've only worn twice and washed once, and the reflective pieces are coming off of the legs. Too bad...I rely on those reflective elements on the dreary winter days. As long as you don't need the "protection from reflection", you should be good.

I am 6'4 and normally wear a 35x35 pant. Should i get the L or XL?

Responded on

I think you'd be good with a large, perhaps even a medium. I'm 6'3"220 lbs. purchased the XL, and they bordered on too big. They ended up being too long in the torso for me, and I returned them. With your height, though, you'd probably get by with the large.

How do you know what temp ranges these are rated for?

I'm preping for a mountain ride, it will be between 40-50 deg. Would I be too hot in those?

Responded on

These are comfortable between about 40~55 degrees F, unless your fighting a stiff breeze. Much over 55, and you'll overheat.
