Reinforced fun.

Commute to work by day and hit the trails in the evening with the Louis Garneau Monte MTB Shoes. With thermoplastic toe bumpers and a high-density nylon soleplate, these shoes are tough cookies that can handle everything from urban adventures to a day on the most technical trails.

Garneau made sure the Montes can get through times off the bike too. A rugged outsole gives lots of traction to scramble up steep embankments or shuffle across log bridges spanning little mountain streams. If you plan on hitting the really technical stuff, you can add in a set of toe spikes for even more ground-grabbing power. A ratchet strap and two hook-and-loop closures work in tandem with Garneau's HRS-80 heel retention system to keep your feet comfy and secure on and off the bike.

  • Thermoplastic toe bumpers
  • HRS-80 heel retention system
  • Reflective elements on heel
  • Compatible with toe spikes (not included)
  • Compatible with two-bolt cleat designs

Great starter shoe

  • Familiarity:I've used it several times

I just started riding and these shoes were recommended. I have put over 250 miles on them and climbed over 30,000 vert and I really like them. The ratchet is great for getting them snug and getting the most out of each pedal stroke. I have rode them in one rail storm and my feet stayed pretty dry. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would encourage bikers that are just starting out to get these.

Run Small

Great shoe overall but their sizes seem to run small. Replaced shoes with the same size but this shoe was definitely smaller. Maybe try a half size bigger from your normal size.
