An exclusive update to the proven crowd pleasers.

At their initial release, Louis Garneau's Mondo Evo Bib Shorts made quite an impact, both here in the office and with you, the consumers. For 2015, Louis Garneau is offering Competitive Cyclist and Backcountry.com the rights to exclusively sell the Mondo Evo Special Edition Bib Shorts. The Mondo Evos incorporate three high-tech fabrics to pull the greatest possible performance from each component of the bib short, with exclusive Special Edition colors to sweeten the already sweet deal.

Like their predecessors, the Mondo Evo Limited Editions incorporate the advanced Cell-Ion Fabric to handle fit and compression. Cell-Ion contains Celliant, the ground-breaking technology that returns reflected energy to the body to trigger increased bloodflow and oxygen levels. The result is improved performance, less fatigue, and greater overall comfort. It also has the effect of providing UPF 50-rated protection from UV exposure, which is key on long summer rides where waterproof sunscreen doesn't stand a chance. Cell-Ion is made with 17% stretch material, which is significantly more than most basic knits. And it's not just any stretch material, but premium Invista Lycra, which is the key to the shorts' unlimited range of motion, exceptional return, and compressive, supportive fit that also helps reduce fatigue.

Louis Garneau used Carbon X Mesh panels on the bib and straps, where airflow is essential to performance. The textured mesh won’t stick to your back and creates a cooling zone between your skin and the fabric. This technical fabric also features Resistex carbon fiber for its antistatic properties as well to enhance controlled stretch and sun protection. TheMondo Evo Bib Shorts also incorporate wide Aero Lazer bands at the thighs to hold the hems in place without grippers, which we pretty much require from any short we ride these days. This fabric features a high spandex content to support muscles and help the short retain its shape over long periods of frequent use.

The 4Motion chamois features combines 3D pre-shaped wings with a deep split at the back that is bridged by vented mesh; this not only offers exceptional ventilation, but allows the pad to move with you without bunching. Large, mesh-lined perforations in the front also allow air to circulate. The multi-density, perforated memory foam is ergonomically designed with a central channel that relieves pressure during long rides. The seamless, four-way stretch 4Motion chamois features an antibacterial carbon top sheet to control odor, and pre-molded wings to add comfort while protecting against inner-thigh chafing.

The shorts are rounded out with the features you'd expect from such high-level kit: ten-panel ergonomic construction, seamless inner thighs, a back pocket, back and bottom reflective logos, and flatlock seams.

    Great fit/comfort

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I bought these for rides of 40-100 miles, I've loved them. They're much more comfortable than normal shorts, fit as expected for me personally and breath very well.

    Great for long rides

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

I needed some bib shorts for long rides 50 miles or more. These feel great on long rides. They are very comfortable all around. The reviews I read said go larger rather than smaller on the size. I texted Customer Service and they said the same. The advice was right on. The large fits me perfectly.

    awesome

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XXL

First off, as everyone else stated, nothing LG fits the same. I am 6'3" 225LBS. I Have LG shorts in a lg (that are a bit loose on me), knickers in a xl (fit perfectly), ordered the bib initially in a XL, had to return it and get a XXL. The chamois is excellent. First ride was 82 miles, and based on that, it is the most comfortable thing I own based. I highly recommend this item. Just careful of the sizing.

    Great bibs

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium

I can't say enough about these bibs. The material is high quality, the pad fits well without the diaper feel, and the overal fit is excellent for a cycling build. I will be buying another pair.

I am 5'9" and 138 lbs and the medium was the right size.

    Quastion

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium

my chest size is 92.5 cm and my height is 164 cm (5.5'' ). Am using M size on castelli and fit is good.
what size I have to get of this bib, and I am confusing between this and
SUGOi RSE Bib Short , which better for me for riding and racing.
    thanks

    Great Bib!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large

I also ordered the Body Paint bibs but liked these a lot more. I like the stomach part on these doesn't cut off super low, that was super annoying with the Castelli bibs. I've done about 10 rides with them and no complaints. These in large are about = to Castelli body paint in XL but still fit better for me, maybe do to how stretchy they are but not sure.

I'm 6ft ~185, wear 32x32 slacks and got these in Large.

Great Fitting Bibs That Do Their Job!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

Never had a set of bibs before and bought these based on the good reviews and good looks. I am extremely happy with them. Did a couple of 30-40 mile rides to get used them, then a century. Comfortable the whole way, no chaffing, bunching or discomfort. at all. I'm 6', 190 lbs, 34 waist and the XL fit me perfectly. Highly recommend these bibs!

    Consistently great fit and materials

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small

I bought a pair of Mondo Evos 2 years ago, and was pleasantly surprised to find the new ones just as comfortable and made with most of the same high quality materials. The thigh panels are the perfect length, and the silicon-free cuffs grip nicely around my quads without cutting into them (really nice design--some silicon-free cuffs on other shorts slide around). The chamois feels comfortable without being bulky...My one gripe--a trivial one--is that the suspenders are very long, and sag a bit even when Im standing straight. Im a shorty, but wearing size Small, I feel like these straps would fit perfectly on someone much taller.

    Great bibs

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These pair of Bibs really make it for me. The material in general is very breathable without them feeling heavy and too constrictive. The chamois fits well and snugged. it provides great padding and comfort. I've been on rides when all of the sudden starts to rain all of the sudden (florida) and the bibs dried off pretty quickly and the chamois didn't feel like a get diaper.

    The Bibs

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Big LG fan so the review may be a bit biased. The fit is true to sizing and the chamois is exceptionally comfortable. Living in a hot weather climate, the lightweight breathability of the fabric is very much appreciated. I didn't notice any compression features but I did notice extreme comfort and don't have any worries about the shorts creeping up the legs.

so far I do like them ....

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

My first pair of LG bibs. The sizing is interesting, I wish they would include height as one of the factors.

I'm 6'3", 200, 34 waist, pretty athletic legs. I bought a large, and it's definitely on the compressive / tight side. I think an XL would have been better, but it seems I'm often an 'in-between' sizing. The fabric is interesting, as it stretches it exposes more of the white waffle interior lining, kind of a sharkskin look. But that also means contours are somewhat highlighted, if you know what I mean. Chamois felt great on the few long rides I've done.

Oh - and they do look great on IMHO.

    Best Bibs Ever!!!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As an experienced 8+ year recreational cyclist who rides 3k-4k/year I've tried lots of bibs (mid-level LG, high end Pearl Izumi and top-end Giordano FormaRed), but for me the LG Mondo Evo offers the best combination of form, fit and function. I'm 5'9", 140lbs, typical climbers body and the small fits like a glove. The chamois gives just right amount of padding, while the cutout in the perinial nerve area gives nice relief on 50+ mi rides. The compressive materials give a real feeling of support and the legs don't creep up. I've seen other reviewers state, "it doesn't feel like your wearing anything," and now I know what they mean! As with bikes, there is no such thing as 1 size fits all - it comes down to finding the best match for your body geometry and I've finally found my ideal match in the Mondo Evo small. Happy riding!

    Meh...

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

    The good?

They look cool in the pictures on the website.

The chamois. I have the same pad in another set of bibs. Best chamois I've ever ridden. Period.

    The bad?

They don't fit like other LG bibs. Then again, I've never had two pieces of LG clothing that fit the same.

The material is wafer thin. I don't know if they are meant to be "Summer" bibs, or LG is trying to make rides more PG13 than they already are. The Cell-Ion is THIN, leading one to believe that these bibs just won't last very long.

And what's up with the see-through panel on the lower thigh? My wife pointed it out. Ain't nobody got time for that!

The gripper panel at the bottom of the leg is suspect. I wore my pair for an hour on the trainer, and it rolled up constantly. No bueno.

Yeah, they look good, and the black and white colorway will match anything, but for the money, there are choices that fit better, and will last longer. They were returned, and replaced with another pair of Giordana bibs...

    YMMV

    Makes My Legs Look Ripped

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just used it a few times so far but I love it. The chamois is thick enough but not too think that it bunches. The different material is tight around the cuff and snug in other areas. The bib straps are just the right length - they feel snug on me without being restricting. I am 5'11" and 190 lbs - the chart says to get the L but I purchased the XL and it is just about perfect.

    Insane comfort!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

These are TOP NOTCH! I can't believe how good these bibs feel on the bike. The inseam isn't to short like some other euro size shorts. The chamois is on par with my Assos t.equipe bibs! No joke. Its that good! Got it on sale for Christmas for around $100. Score! For sizing I am 5'4 115 lbs and sized up like all LG and got the small. Fit is spot on. The straps are very comfortable and not too tight. No leg grippers but they never once rode up on me. The look is pro in my opinion. I would buy this without hesitation!

    Unanswered Question

Any chance you'll ever get the black and white version of these bibs in XL? Have a pair and love them. (or really any color in XL would probably work)

    Unanswered Question

I'm 6' tall and weigh around 168lbs with a waist of 30 inch and chest of 39 inch. So tall and skinny. What is the best size in these bibs? It looks like the small per the spec sheet, but not sure. Thanks
