Description
Stay warm, dry, and happy.
Although weather is a powerful and unpredictable opponent, you're not powerless in your fight against it. The Louis Garneau Women's Geminix Jacket acts as a super hero cape in your battle against foul weather. The Geminix Jacket is anatomically tailored for women, and includes all of the features you need to stay warm when Mother Nature is against you.
The Louis Garneau Women's Geminix Jacket is constructed from a combination of WindDry 12k and Micro-Airdry EX fabrics. Both fabrics are lightweight and breathable, and provide consistent ventilation on cold days in the saddle. The front of the Geminix features a two-way reversed zipper, an inner flap, and a cycling-specific collar that work together to offer easy, one-handed zips for ventilation. The fit is enhanced by elastic wristbands and a signature gripper at the bottom hem. These help keep the Geminix stay in place when the zippered back pocket is loaded with your multi-tool and energy bars. For night riding, Louis Garneau included reflective piping on the sleeves, and reflective logos on the front and rear of the jacket. The Geminix also features a designated MP3 player pocket, and an ergonomic women's pro-fit.
The Louis Garneau Women's Geminix Jacket is available in five sizes from Small to XX-Large, and in the colors Flash Blue, Ginger, and Yellow.
- Two-way zipper for versatility and comfort
- Elastic wrists to help keep the wind from sneaking inside
- Reflective piping and logos increase your visibility
- Zippered chest and back pockets securely store your essentials

Had to return this jacket because the fit is a bit loose and the front fabric is a bit stiff.
The zipper down the front adds to the stiffness of the whole front of the jacket.

How heavy is this jacket? I live in Florida and I need a light weight jacket for the winter mornings. Not sure if this is too heavy?

Probably not. It is heavier than a nylon wind jacket, but the panels on the sides and arms allow for some air flow. I use this in the winter in Atlanta most of the time... it's not nearly as heavy as much of the gear I used to wear in the winters of the north.

I love the look of this jacket. I have two questions, is it only for winter riding or can it also be used on fall rainy days? Is it waterproof?
Also, I live in Canada, is it possible to ship to Canada and what is the return procedure if it doesn't fit?
Thanks
Sarah

Very clever. Windtex on chest and front of sleeves, except elbow. A good mid-weight winter/spring/fall jacket. 5'5", 120ish and S is spot on. Made in China.

Ha I just posted this questions over in the men's clothing but I figured I would post here too since I'm buying the woman's jacket.
I am looking at this jacket for women. I love the look and description of this jacket. I wish they would give a back view of the reflective material. How reflective is the jacket? It mentions the piping is reflective. Do you think the reflective parts are enough, do you wish there was more?

HA is right! :-) I just posted a follow up to this over on the men's site, so I will follow up here with you too!!

This is a GREAT jacket. BTW, The jacket comes in a women's cut: http://www.realcyclist.com/louis-garneau-geminix-jacket-womens
You can see a photo of the back of the jacket on the women's side. Piping is along the black panel that goes up the back. In addition, the area around the zipper and the Garneau logo are also reflective. Plus LG has added a tab to the bottom of the jacket that allows you to attach a visibility light.
I like the amount of reflective on the Jacket. It stands out well, but does not ruin the look of the piece. Rather gives it a good pop. The men's jacket has the same reflective profile as the women's described above.
I hope that helps. Let me know if you have more questions.
Runs long

I thought this jacket was too long when I first tried it on, but once I got on the bike it felt great. The little extras like the chest pocket with mp3 port and the 2-way zipper are really nice. I'm glad I didn't return it.

I have big arms for a woman. Tried this jacket and love it except that the arms are too narrow. any recommendations for me and my big arms?

That's too bad. This is an incredible jacket. But, I agree, the fabric is not that flexible in the arms. I suggest you try the enerblock jacket. It has a simpler look but is just as amazing. In general all cycling jackets are going to have narrow arms. I hope this helps.
Arms too small

I have muscular arms. This jacket is great everywhere except in the arms. I wouldn't be able to wear anything except a no sleeved shirt.
I would definitely keep it otherwise.
Love this Jacket!

This is a fantastic jacket. I rode today in 41 degree temps and this jacket, with a light jersey, kept me warm and happy. The back pocket is large and the front one perfect for tissues or small items. Be aware the sizing chart is not correct. According to the chart I should have taken an XL, but this size was too big and the Large fit me perfectly. I'd go down a size when ordering if you want a snugger fit. I got the high visibility Bright Yellow and love it!
