Dressed to cool.
Louis Garneau's Course Superleggera 2 Jersey is built for the rigors of summer in the WorldTour: high Alpine passes and long, tortuous breakaways in the Pyrenees. Given this pedigree, you might expect LG to claim jocularly that the only way to stay drier and cooler would be to wear nothing at all. But you'd be wrong. With its combination of innovative technologies and materials, the Course Superleggera actually keeps you cooler than being naked. It's also a lot less awkward in public.
The jersey's bust is made from LG's CB Mondo fabric, which starts with a blend of stretchability and breathability and finished with a Coldblack fabric treatment, which helps reflect the sun from the material to keep you cooler for longer. The women's Course Superleggera 2 takes a tack that makes many of the male Competitive staffers jealous. Instead of the see-through Kite Mesh, women get a blend of Lightsens and Microsens meshes for the yolk and underarm panels, respectively. These lock in comfort with ventilation and emergency-grade moisture evacuation while preserving the lightweight of their transparent counterpart on the men's version.
The jersey's arm bands don't have a cuff or a hem, they're just laser-cut, flexible bands of CB Mondo that hold the jersey in place without constricting or adding any wind-grabbing transition ridges. This stability lets the pre-shaped shoulders do what they're designed to: maintain a restriction-free but tight fit across your chest and upper back while on the hoods or in the drops. The three usual rear pockets are angled for ease of access and supplemented by an additional, zippered media pocket with internal headphone channeling. The rear hem's light grip keeps everything in place, and reflective elements help keep you visible from the front and the rear in low-light conditions.

- Q & A
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: Runs small
- Size Bought: Medium
This is my favorite hot-weather jersey. It is light and airy. That being said, it is more delicate than most jerseys. I treat it like a silk blouse. It has transparent sections (not across the chest), so I wear a skin-colored bra. I did order one size up.
I ordered based on the size chart and it was snug but I expected that when ordering something that was racer cut. What I didn't expect is that it fit better standing in front of the mirror than in a riding position. The material bunched and cut in under my arms when in a riding position. It's also a little more see through on the shoulders than I expected. It would probably leave an interesting sunburn .
