The steeper the better.

Louis Garneau designed its Men's Blizzard Snowshoe for steep ascents so you can get to the summit and back before dinner. Its sturdy Contour frame keeps you light on your feet so you can cover miles faster, and its optimized surface area and easy snow-shedding ability give you a natural stride over deeper pow. The Freeflex pivot provides excellent shock absorption and free foot rotation on the axle for an efficient stride. And the Traxion HCS front crampons offer multidirectional traction for a good grip on any terrain.

This snowshoe's Contact Pro harness system utilizes two Boa dials that cinch across any shoe whether its a hiking boot or a snowboard boot, and Louis Garneau added EVA padding to prevent any discomfort during all-day excursions. Its Lightec decking remains flexible in temperatures as low as -40°F for an ideal performance regardless of the weather, and the Connect fastener system attaches the deck to the frame to enhance durability and boost the snowshoe's lateral traction over uneven terrain. Use the Step-Up heel raiser to reduce fatigue while you hike up the steepest sections.

Here's what others have to say...

Will these fit with snowboard boots?

Louis Garneau Nailed it

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

On trails, off trails, on the flats, and straight uphill busting trail, these shoes handle it all. From what I've read, these are some of the first snowshoes Louis Garneau have made. I took a chance on them and couldn't be happier with the gamble.
I wouldn't recommend these if all you want to do is hike the trail, they are bigger than trail shoes so you can rock off the trail.
Off the trail, they excel. I've taken them all over the back country and found the flotation and grip to be excellent. My dog has learned that if it is deep and fluffy, he has to stay in my footprints or he gets stuck. If the going gets steep, put up the step up bars and your calves will thank you for it.
If you are looking for snowshoes for the trail, look elsewhere. If you want some for mixed use or straight back country use look no further.

The last of a 5 mile hike with the pup. Shoes help up beautifully and kept me floating on 15+ inches of snow when off trail.
