Great sock for all around use. No hot spots from seems like many other socks will have in the toe area. Offers good support around the mid foot area and are extremely breathable.

I use these socks for travelling and light hiking. For travelling, they are tremendous. They take up little space and are extremely light in weight. You can hand wash them in minutes, and they line dry in minutes. For light hiking, they are very good. There is a little extra padding in impact areas. For long hikes or hikes with a backpack, I would at least go with midweight socks, or you could double up on the lightweight socks. I love the material they are made of. I wore them at 0 degree weather and 110 degree weather and the socks were always comfortable. My feet were never cold or hot. They wick moisture well. If you want to avoid wool and travel and/or hike lightly, these socks are for you.

This sock is very comfortable and warm when you first put them on. After you heat up a bit your feet actually start sweating which is where the problem arrives. The fabric is not moisture wicking at all, instead it traps moisture to your foot causing them to get cold and clammy.

These are the best socks...period. Keep feet warm and are extremely light. They are almost as light as dress socks and can be used for everyday usage. If you are looking for warmth and don't want to be wearing wool socks then this is your best bet.

Unquestionably the best light weight, warm/ moderate weather, hiker sock I've used to date. No piling after the first wash unlike the Ice Breaker Hike-Lite (Merino) pair that I ordered for comparison along with this set (I even line dried them). Because of the fabric composition, these will get "smelly" more quickly than a merino blend, but Lorpen's have kept my feet cooler and wicked any foot moisture better than the merino counterparts I've experimented with. Two thumbs up and five stars...a great product!

I really like socks, and have several favorite pairs, but this one is pretty special, especially for the price. It reminds me a lot of the XSock Air Force 1, but less than half the price, and seemingly more durable. It is very low-profile, adding padding/insulation only in the high wear areas. Although it is not left-right anatomically specific, it has a lot of great variation to support the ankle, arch, heel, etc. I like to wear it with everything from running shoes to light hiking boots that don't need a lot of protection from lace binding. Keep in mind I am a fan of light-weight socks, even for cooler temps, but this sock is a winner at this price.
