Description

Ready for summer on the trail.

Lorpen created the Merino Shorty Ultralight Hiker Sock for hikers, runners, and bikers who hit the trail no matter how high the summer temps rise. Plus, thanks to the versatility of merino wool, these Lorpen socks also provide insulation if the mercury happens to drop when you're miles from the trailhead.

Good feel

  • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
  • Fit: True to size

I took these to the northern end of patagonia on a 3 month trip. They held up well. I like the feel of their snugness. I have small thin feet and they were my favorite pair in my bag. No seams make them super confy.

snug as a bug

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times
  • Fit: True to size

these little gems wrap your foot up in a firm supportive sock. They are not real pretty but they are a brilliant for those long hikes or even everyday use.

Decent

I like the ultra-lightweight of these socks and the mesh upper knit breathes very well. This should be a decent sock for summer hikes. The only thing I don't like about the socks is the super thin material in the heel. I am very hard on socks from all the hiking and day to day walking that I do. I'm just not sure how well/long the heels are going to hold out. However, they may surprise me and if so I will purchase more of these. At any rate, if I at least get a few months out of these socks it will be worth it for the ventilation they provide my feet since they already sweat pretty badly regardless of low or high temps.

A bit too thin for running

These were too thin for my taste. I liked the light version of these socks better. The ultra thinness gave my feet more contact with my shoes than I wanted.
