Ever wish you could just wear your bed comforter out and about on super cold winter days? Welcome to the Lolė Womens Louise Long Jacket. This long jacket starts at your head and reaches 47 inches down to somewhere around your mid-leg, and it looks a lot more normal than a bedspread wrap. Slip this Lolė jacket over your work or errands-downtown outfit, pull up the hood, and face the chill. Inner hand gaiters add extra wrist warmth and help block wind, two outside and three inside pockets hold your music player, keys, and wallet, and the polyester Fiberdown insulation adds low-bulk warmth.
Bottom Line: Much more fashionable than wearing your comforter around town.
I think I want this coat but it's my first time buying a winter coat (I'm from San Diego), and I have no idea what size I am. I'm 34"bust, 30" waist & 39" hips if that helps. I do have broad shoulders & larger upper arms. Plus I'll be wearing layers underneath. I'm guessing 8 or 10, but not sure. I usually choose medium clothing.
I'm always cold, so my boyfriend always jokes that what I really need in a jacket is a sleeping bag with arms. That's basically what this jacket is. It comes down to my boots, so there is no extra room for cold air to taunt my legs. The bottom zips upward, so there is no restricted movement for walking/sitting/driving/etc. This jacket kept me warm in -21 weather -- fantastic buy if you live in cold weather. It also looks great on; it's got a waist drawstring on the inside of the jacket for definition, so you don't look like you're wearing a sack. The size 6 fits me perfectly: 5'5", 130lbs, comes down to a few inches below my knees.

I desperately needed (wanted?) a long coat to replace a down one that died two years ago. However, being that it rains a bit too much in the area of 34 degrees F to 37 F, I needed a synthetic--not a down. Along came Louise, and I have found a friend that, after one day puttering around outside, I know I will cherish. Fabulous jacket. Terrific price and cozy and warm. Hooray! I'm halfway tempted to buy a closetful just so I know I'd always have one.
Write your question here...Tell me about "Synchylla" (sp?). Which jackets/coats are available in this fabric? Sounds interesting.Look forward to your response.
This coat is a great deal - cheaper here than several other places I looked -- and is awesomely cozy for walking from the train station to work in blustery Chicago. Light weight but warm and nice zippered handwarmer pockets behind the buttoned patch pockets.
No. Well, maybe if you layered 3 or 4 of them it would. -40 is really really cold. You're going to need some serious layering, and even so it's hard to stay warm. If you're actually going to be in that kind of weather, something like the Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero or other such hardcore jacket (http://www.backcountry.com/store/MHW0443/Mountain-Hardwear-Sub-Zero-SL-Hooded-Down-Jacket-Womens.html) is the way to go. If that was just a typo, and you meant 40 degrees (as in ABOVE zero), then yes, this is a good mid-weight jacket for that kind of temperature.
