Description

A new breed of road bike.

If you were drooling over the Litespeed Archon C1 last year, but just couldn't commit yourself to the seat mast, the 2011 C1 just might be the remedy for (some) of your commitment phobias. Litespeed dropped the cut-it-and-hope-it-fits seatmast in favor of this year's easily adjustable and still aerodynamic seatpost. Litespeed's dedication to aerodynamics delivers a frame that will perform exceptionally in any road racing discipline, and wouldn't be at all out of place on a triathlon or time trial course.

  • BB30 bottom bracket adds stiffness at the most important junction of the frame
  • Aerodynamically-shaped, oversized downtube breaks through the wind, and shrouds your water bottles so you can hydrate without losing speed
  • Massive front end moves air efficiently, and provides added stiffness for climbing and sprinting
  • Shimano Dura-Ace gruppo with FSA K-Light carbon crankset offers efficient, crisp shifting, and excellent power transfer
  • Mavic Kysrium wheelset is light and durable for everyday riding and training
  • Aerodynamic design in a sub-eight-kilogram weight means you get huge aero gains on flats and descents without giving up anything on the climbs

Bike arrived from Realcyclist on time and all set up. All that was needed was air pressure and saddle adjustment. The shipping container is amazing.

Of course I checked everything over before I hit the road and all was great.

According to Litespeed's web site, the factory warranty on their frame is void if the bike is purchased from an online e-tailer. In this case, how does RealCyclist.com cover frame defects?

Not sure if this helps, but I might be going through this process here. I have 2010 c2 which I just recently noticed has a dent on the frame. Bike has never been laid down or had anything smack it. They told me as long as I have receipt and they are authorized dealer they will take care of it. They told me I need to see a litespeed dealer to have it checked out. I informed them i bought the bike online because the nearest dealer is 3 hours away. Told me to take it reputable dealer, so I am guessing they will take care of you.

which model mavic ksyrium wheelset is installed on the litespeed archon c1 dura ace? Why it's not 100% dura ace?

The wheelset is the Mavic Ksyrium Elites.

Not sure about the cassette and chain, but the crankset is BB30 and there is no such thing as a Dura-Ace BB30 model.

The SL-K crank by FSA is lighter at 614g vs the DA 7900 crank which is 725g. Also as stated above the DA doesn't come in BB30.

The FSA crank is also less costly for the same if not better performance.

The Archon C1 has a BB30 bottom bracket. I see in lieu of using some type of adapter and the dura ace crank set litespeed uses the FSA crank set sized for the BB30. are the adapters bad news?

Nearly every bike in the pro peloton with a dura-ace group is running an adapter, so it looks like a pretty reliable setup.

Litespeed is most likely using the FSA crankset sized for BB30 instead of Dura-Ace non-BB30 because 1) it lighter, 2) it is less expensive, and 3) it doesn't require an adapter (which is reliable enough but is an additional part). It's debatable whether the FSA crankset is stiffer than the uber-stiff Dura-Ace one, but in theory a BB30 setup should be stiffer at the bottom bracket area.

The Litespeed frames are BB30-ready, so might as well take advantage of it.
