After all the whitewater tomfoolery and playboat surfing, the heart of kayaking still lies in the experience of paddling rivers. Get back to the soul sessions with the Liquid Logic Jefe Grande Kayak, now made in a larger (grande) size. Whether you're into big-volume monsters or the local, winding waters behind your house this boat has the creek-style characteristics to take it all on. Larger chargers can now take on the rapids in a stable, predictable ride that'll plaster a grin on even the most experienced, salty faces.

  • Aggressive rocker profile and added volume at the bow gobble up big rapids and help this boat pop up quickly after the occasional, washy drop
  • Full, rounded bow charges through boils and stays on the surface easily
  • Soft chines and added width at the hips provide stability and increase control when you need to make quick transitions
  • Bad Ass Outfitting uses an easily adjustable, padded backband and thigh braces make customizing the Jefe Grande quick and efficient
  • Quick-draining mesh offers padding in the seat and quickly dies should the inside of your cockpit take on water
  • Liquid Logic commissioned climbing gear manufacturer Black Diamond to create the hard metal grab handles that offer superior reliability in rescue situations

Purchase of Jefe Grande

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I am very pleased with my purchase of the LL Jefe Grande. I bought it on a Sunday and it arrived 4 days later. There was no problems with the boat or purchase. It was delivered in the factory plastic and fabric coverings. It was delivered by a medium size box truck freight company. The driver was professional and backed down my long driveway to deliver. All of the factory tags were in place and there were no evidence of a factory seconds condition that I could find. I switched from a LL Stomper 90 that I had paddled for 2 years. The Jefe Grande impressed me the moment I sealed launched into the river. It took a little getting used to the change but it was awesome, after a just a few minutes. It punched right through the sticky holes and surfed well when I wanted to. I cannot wait to drop some vertical stuff to compare the two boats. Super Stoked!

I'm 6'6" with a 38 inch inseam and weigh in a just over 200 lbs. is the grande going to be able to fit me? Or any boat for that matter?

Im trying to decide between the jefe or the jefe grande. I'm 5'10" 195lbs. looking to use it to run the ocoee class 3-4 and some local creeks in east TN. Any insight would be much appreciated.

At your weight and height the larger volume Grande is the better choice. With the round bottoms and soft chines, the extra width won't be that noticeable but the extra bouancy will get you popping out and over better. Great boat, Btw. Enjoy!
